Since then, we have witnessed the Bubble grow into a fun, striking and an innovative collection. It has been rightly called “a manifestation of Corum’s unending innovative power” with its distinctive “towering sapphire crystal”. The Corum Bubble Dani Olivier: What the watch represents

The watch was developed in partnership with the acclaimed Paris-based photographer Dani Olivier. This edition uniquely brings forth photographic art to the wrist. The photographer, Dani Olivier, specializes in the art of capturing “abstract and psychedelic nudes” of the human body covered in striations of light. Using photographs of real human bodies, Dani Olivier has managed to create an incredible manifestation of art by projecting light patterns onto nude bodies set against a black backdrop. The result of which is completely surreal.

“My view on harmony within projects is vastly important. Most of the time, it is my design and work that is projected amongst the bodies of these women, but I often get inspired when they take part in the creative process- when they initiate new curves, new movement in space and ultimately, a new image” – Dani Olivier

Watch in Detail: Black PVD coated 47mm stainless steel case, signature “Bubble” sapphire crystal and open-worked hour and minute hands

As mentioned before, there could not have been a better watch than the Bubble collection to incorporate an art of this stature and integrity. Realizing this, Corum has made sure to set a befitting canvas for Olivier’s art by inculcating additional features to the watch.

The 47mm case of the Bubble is made of stainless steel and features a domed double antireflective sapphire crystal and a sapphire case back. The case is a combination of polished and brushed surfaces and is coated with black PVD treatment, ensuring that the deep black background of the portraits featured on the dial complements the rest of the watch. Set against an entirely black theme, the colours on the dial come alive. Apart from Dani Olivier’s futuristic photography, the only other pop of colour featured on the dial is the Corum key logo and the “Dani Olivier” signature at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, respectively.

Additionally, the rhodium plated, leaf- type minute and hour hands are skeletonized to ensure that they do not take away from the artwork in the background. Furthermore, the sensual curves of the ladies on the portraits keep in perfect accordance with the signature bulging Bubble case.
