The Carl F. Bucherer FourX is a striking beauty. It comes as close as possible to horological perfection with its striking design and horological engineering. Very rarely does one come across a COSC Certified chronometer chronograph which features a skeleton dial, triple time zone display with GMT indicator, bi-directional rotating bezel, magnified bi-coloured date indicator and a quad-material case.

What’s with the ‘FourX’? The incredible case:
“FourX” refers to the four materials used on the 46mm case of this watch, i.e., rose gold or palladium (whichever version you choose) along with titanium, ceramic, and rubber.
High-tech ceramic on the bezel is what gives the watch an edge on durability and makes it extremely scratch resistant. The use of ceramic also adds to the overall look of the timepiece. The revolutionary mono-pusher at 10 o’clock is made from titanium and the crown and the chronograph pushers use space grade rubber for extra comfort and durability.

A COSC certified chronograph & chronometer
The Patravi TravelTec is powered by the Calibre CFB 1901.1 automatic movement. It is a COSC certified chronometer. If you thought COSC certifications weren’t a big deal, well only 3% of all Swiss made movements end up being certified as official chronometers. There’s no questioning the technical prowess of the movement because it has already been tested under rigorous conditions by COSC or Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, which is the institute responsible for certifying the accuracy and precision of wristwatches in Switzerland. The certified chronometer status is only given to the most accurate and well-engineered movements, including the TravelTec FourX.

The skeleton dial – Combination of raw beauty and exquisite finishing
The skeleton dial proudly showcases the incredible design, innovation and engineering of the watchmakers at Carl F. Bucherer. The dial features rose gold indexes to mark the hours with a double index at the 12 o’clock marker. The numbers are well proportioned and give the watch a well-balanced yet energetic face. An ingenious date indicator
The dial also features an ingenious date indicator. The date indicator has a magnifying lens built into the sapphire crystal (or cyclops lens as we know it). The figures/numbers which represent the date are milled out of a rotating steel disc, also visible on the skeleton dial. Every date turns red as soon as it reaches the date indicator, while the rest remain invisible.

Triple time zone & the revolutionary mono-pusher
The Traveltec FourX is capable of displaying three time zones accurately, with just a push of a button.
How does it work?
The GMT hand combined with the normal hands, helps you track two time zones. For the third time-zone, the revolutionary mono-pusher, located near 10 o’clock, is used to turn an inside rotating bezel, which has a switch over it that can be turned. You can easily flip the pusher between east position and west position and lock the pusher in place so that the inner GMT ring can be turned to the left or the right. By turning the GMT ring towards one direction you can change the time zone when travelling east, and by turning it the other way you can change time while travelling west. Designed for the ultimate traveller to help him track all his time-zones, the watch has the time, GMT hand, GMT ring that goes east or west, a 12-hour chronograph, and the date. Feels like the world is at your behest, doesn’t it?
