SpotlightDriven By Nature’s Wonders: Introducing The New Chronoswiss Strike Two Watches—Terra And Highland
With hand-guilloche sub-dials and their visible gear work, the new Chronoswiss Strike Two timepieces—Highland and Terra—feature dials that are inspired by the earth’s contrasting landforms

Earlier this year, Chronoswiss released a new series of regulator watches that had sub-dials laid out horizontally. Inspired by a 1990s watch, the resultant Chronoswiss Strike Two timepieces were rather surprising, especially considering that the brand have perfected the art of creating regulator watches. To take a successful concept, and turn it around horizontally to make another beautiful creation is a feat in itself. Now, two new versions of the Chronoswiss Strike Two series join the line-up. Based on design codes from the brand’s previous Strike Two watches, the Chronoswiss Strike Two Terra and Highland timepieces are inspired by nature. An inspiration that is visible in subtle cues on the dials of the Terra and Highland watches.

Chronoswiss Strike Two Strikes Again
Housed in a 40mm steel case, the Strike Two Terra and Highland watches display the brand’s distinct identifiers. The 17-part case featured polished finishes and a fluted bezel and oversized onion crown, which are signatures of the brand. Calfskin straps, embossed to mimic alligator leather, are screwed into the curved lugs—another signature identifier of Chronoswiss. A domed, antireflective sapphire crystal glass sits over the dial. And a fluted, stain-finished caseback ring frames a large sapphire crystal window. This window offers a generous view of the brand’s automatic calibre C.6000 housed within. Besides enhanced accuracy, shock protection and anti-magnetism, the movement also offers a 55-hour power reserve when fully wound.
Striking Guilloche Sub-Dials Of The Chronoswiss Strike Two Watches
Chronoswiss are known for their hand guilloche dials in varying patterns. It comes as no wonder then that the brand chose to include their signature design codes for the Strike Two timepieces. But instead of filling the entire canvas of the dial with guilloche patterns, it is restricted to the small seconds sub-dials at nine o’clock. On a silvery base, the zig-zag of the guilloche work looks mesmerising. Moreover, this pattern offers a striking contrast against the rest of the dial in green for the Highland timepiece or salmon for the Terra watch. Visible behind the skeletonised hours sub-dial at three o’clock are the two bridges that give the collection its name. On the Terra watch, the screws that hold the bridges in place are blued to contrast with the salmon-brown of the dial. This blue also matches the outline of the off-centred timekeeping hands that are generously filled with Super-LumiNova. On the other hand, the Chronoswiss Strike Two Highland timepiece features discreet silver screws and contrasting rose gold plated timekeeping hands that are filled with lume.
Chronoswiss Strike Two And Nature-Inspired Backdrops
These subtle design elements serve to highlight the main feature on these two new Strike Two timepieces. Lasered and coated in brown PVD, the dial of the Strike Two Terra timepiece instantly evokes raw, earthy brown terrain. This textured pattern throughout the dial; forms the backdrop for both futuristic, mechanical—the hours sub-dial at three—and traditional elements—small seconds at nine-o’clock—of the timepiece. On the Strike Two Highland timepiece, vertical satinage (last seen on the Strike Two Golden Gear) stands out in a striking green hue. The green appears to play with the light, transforming its appearance under different lighting.
The Highland timepiece is paired with a brown strap that highlights the mesmerising green of the dial, while the Terra watch is paired with black calf leather. A stunning new addition to the collection, the Chronoswiss Strike Two Terra and Strike Two Highland timepieces each offer a unique take on regulator watches. Which one do you prefer?
