About the Zenith Defy Collection
History
For most, Zenith is about the El Primero. Well, they created the first automatic mechanical movement. Even though the ghost of El Primero hovers over Zenith, the brand was also known for its well-crafted timepieces. The first Defy was launched in 1969 and was called the 1969 A3642 Defy. When the horology world was deep in diving watches and accurate movements whilst not forgetting the approaching Quartz crisis, Zenith built the strong, sturdy Defy. The octagonal case and the tetradecagonal bezel made it a timepiece that was way ahead of its time. Since then, Defy has made Zenith a brand that defies the cultural norms applied to the watchmaking industry. (Obviously, coupled with the El Primero).
Essence
A collection of futuristic-looking timepieces, the Defy collection is the face of Zenith’s avant-garde approach. The Zenith Defy is a collection for both men and women and inculcates the zest of Zenith towards crafting unique and brilliant timepieces. The Zenith Defy incorporates movements with cutting-edge technology. The Zenith Defy collection is an amalgamation of pioneering designs and superior craftsmanship. Under the Defy collection, the series included are 21, Extreme, Classic, Midnight, Zero G, Skyline, Double Tourbillon, and Fusee Tourbillon.
Features
The Zenith Defy collection is equipped with features such as Date, Chronograph, Power Reserve Indicator, Double Tourbillon, and 1/10th, 1/100th seconds chronograph. The date window is perfectly placed at the 3 o’clock marker. Whereas, the Chronographs are placed at 9, 3, and 6 o’clock markers. For women, the Zenith Defy collection offers an elegant yet promiscuous approach with a simple dial either studded with a diamond-set bezel or a polished bezel.
