Jack Heuer wasn’t just the great grandson of the founder of TAG Heuer, but also the architect behind TAG Heuer’s most popular series of watches, the Carrera. To mark the 50th anniversary of the first Carrera watch, TAG Heuer launched the TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 Jack Heuer Edition CAR2C11.FC6327, a limited edition watch.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Jack Heuer Edition CAR2C11.FC6327 mixes elements of the Carrera Series’ past as well as present and gives a sneak peek into design elements that will be incorporated into future designs. Two of the most radical design elements are the location of the crown and the pushers as well as the asymmetrical case design. Unlike most watches, the crown as well as the two pusher buttons is placed at the 12 o’clock position. The case also rises at an angle at the top, which helps to read the watch easily without the need to twist your wrist too much. At the rear of the case, Jack Heuer’s coat of arms as well as his signature adorns the smoked sapphire caseback. Through this caseback, you can see the 39 jewels in the Calibre 1887 movement. The dial of the watch is grey and silver. The strap of the watch is made using crocodile skin leather and is black on the outside and red inside.
The case and the bezel of the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Jack Heuer Edition CAR2C11.FC6327 is made using titanium and steel. The watch has three sub dials, a 30 minute counter at the 9 o’clock position, 12 hour counter at the 3 o’clock position and a small running seconds counter at the 6 o’clock position. The watch has a power reserve of about 50 hours and is water resistant up to 100 meters.
One of TAG Heuer’s most iconic collections, the Carrera, was launched in 1963 by Jack Heuer. To mark the 50th anniversary of this prestigious collection of fine sports timepieces, TAG Heuer released a single unit titled the Jack Heuer edition. Jack Heuer is the honorary chairman of the watch manufacturing company and is the great grandson of the founder. He conceptualized the Carrera Chronograph, one of the most celebrated motor sport watches not just in the history of the brand but watchmaking itself. A Jack Heuer watch had already been launched just a year before on the legendary watchmaker's 80th birthday. The two combine to make for limited edition watches that celebrate the innovative spirit of the brand and the people behind it.
The Jack Heuer 80 Edition has a stunning silver dial that features a star-burst finish. Depending on the light, it can appear an elegant grey or a soothing white. Two subsidiary dials function as chronograph counters at 9'o clock and 3'o clock. In commemoration of Jack Heuer's 80th birthday, the number 80 on the tachymeter is marked in red. A 41 mm stainless steel case stays true to the original aesthetic of the Carrera Collection.
The Carrera 1887 Jack Heuer Edition features a refreshingly bold design. The crown and the chrnonograph pushers of the watch are located at the top of the watch case as opposed to the usual side of the case. This watch maintains a close link to its predecessor with its bi-compax chronograph layout. A discreet date window at 6'o clock imparts the wearer with a holistic view of time.
Both watches feature exceptional reliability and accuracy owing to their Swiss-made automatic movement. Other features that unite them in impeccable quality include a 100 metre water-resistance and an AR sapphire crystal case window.

Featured here is limited edition Jack heuer edition dedicated to the legendary watchmaker and company founder Jack heuer who even had amazing racing skills. The bullhead design watch (design in which the chrono pusher are place on top for easy access) is quite new in tag but it'd popular among seiko, omega, bulova and citizen.the 45mm case with a blend of steel and titanium carbide ensures that the watch is light and durable.the black and white inner bezel resembles the Car console with two inner bezels displaying the seconds.the dial are well graduated and offers additional tachymeter feature that aids in calculating speed. The black and red plush leather strap follows the racing trend evident on the dial.
The calibre 1887 is similar to the other carrera models apart from the reposition. The 39 rubies self winding watch offers 40hrs power reserve when chronograph is running and 50 hrs without chronograph. Spa hire crystal is incorporated in the front and the caseback for scratch resistance.more so, there is jack heuer's signature done in red on the caseback, giving that special edition feel.
Overall verdict: a great timepiece and tribute to a visionary..46mm case and the bullhead style takes time to get used to .worth the money paid

Jack Heuer created the Carrera Chronograph in 1963 and led the way for this brilliant range of watches that are popular even today. The Jack Heuer Edition is a tribute to the master horologist and represents the best of everything that is there in the Tag Heuer Carrera series.
