The TAG Heuer Carrera CAR2A10.FC6235 was inspired by motor racing just like the other watches in the Carrera Series. It was developed by none other than Jack Heuer, the great grandson of the founder of TAG Heuer himself. Jack Heuer was the CEO of TAG Heuer for twenty years and considered the Carrera Series to be his signature series. The Carrera Series was launched in 1963 and production was stopped in 1982 when Jack Heuer retired, but at Monza in 1996, Jack himself relaunched the Carrera Series.
The TAG Heuer Carrera CAR2A10.FC6235 is inspired by the stylish and sporty Calibre 16 design. The polished steel case is accentuated with the black ceramic bezel. The strap is made using black alligator leather and adds a touch of class and comfort to the whole ensemble thanks to a soft touch effect along with an ‘H’ shape for added style. The dial is black with silver coloured markers. Interestingly, instead of marking each hour like almost any other watch, TAG Heuer opted to mark out the minutes in large Arabic numerals. The dial also has 3 sub dials as well as a date window. The lens of the watch is made using curved sapphire crystal for scratch resistance and goes through a double anti-reflective treatment for improved readability.
The watch has three sub dials which are as follows: small seconds at the 9 o’clock position, chronograph minutes at the 12 o’clock position and chronograph hours at the 6 o’clock position. The date window is placed at the 3 o’clock position. The crown of the watch is placed at right side of the watch with two pusher buttons flanking the crown. The pusher buttons are used to control the various functions of the watch.
TAG Heuer’s Carrera Collection was first launched in 1963 and had a very simplistic design containing just the registers and applied markers on the dial. This collection soon went on to become one of TAG Heuer’s first ever ranges of automatic chronographs and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013 having brought out new models every decade since it was introduced to the world.
The Carrera is one of Tag Heuer’s shining trademark ranges of Chronographs. The sleek and sporty finish checks off large and easy to read hour markers while greatly accentuating the luminous hands. The design also comes with a TAG Heuer logo at the crown with a Carrera marking on the dial. The Carrera’s stainless steel strap adds to the powerful look that embodies this series. Fabric, titanium and leather are also available as strap options. The anti-scratch curved sapphire crystal and double anti-reflective treatment allows for the wearer to use the watch with more freedom without fear of scratches or lack of visibility.
This collection provides water-resistance up to 100 metres. Chronograph counters feature stopwatch and countdown functionality. A date window at 6'o clock or 3'o clock gives you a holistic view of time. Powered by an advanced automatic movement, this collection is the epitome of reliability and precision.
