History
The Datejust collection was initially created only for men. It was developed in the year 1945, and gained great popularity with its introduction into the market.

Design
Rolex’s M116233-63603_ WHT IND has a monobloc middle case, which is made of Yellow Rolessor that gets its name from the harmonious combination of 18 karat gold and 904 L steel. The dial of this timepiece is white and has the hour indexes marked by Roman numerals in gold. It has a fluted bezel in Yellow Rolessor bezel, which adds to the aesthetic beauty of the timepiece. The hour and minute’s hands on the dial are of the same colour as the bezel.

A three piece flat link Oyster bracelet offers this timepiece its elegance. It is two toned and the clasp is of the folding easy-link type with an extra 5 mm length for added comfort and security. A sapphire crystal which is scratch resistant has been used to increase the durability of the watch. A Cyclops lens over the date feature, which helps in magnifying the date by 2.5 times its actual size.

Features
The Datejust M116233-63603_ WHT IND Rolex uses the perpetual self-winding mechanism of caliber 3135. A perpetual rotor offers precision to the watch. Its mechanism has been completely created by Rolex and works without offering any glitches. The timepiece is a certified Swiss chronometer and has been awarded this distinction only after passing the tests of place and temperature, which is why it is so precise and reliable. Moreover, it belongs to the oyster series of Rolex watches, which means that it uses a patented system of a winding crown, the middle case and the bezel screwed down together to make the watch waterproof. Water resistance is effective to a depth of 100 metres or 330 feet. A date feature is located at the 3 o’clock index on the dial. This date feature has a rapid setting, which changes the date sharp at midnight every day.

History
The Datejust collection was introduced by Rolex in the year 1945. This was the first wristwatch to display automatically changing date through an opening on the dial.

Features
Featuring a classic design and iconic style, the Datejust features a date window located at the 3 o’clock position for your ease in viewing. The date aperture showcases the Cyclops lens on the top, the most distinctive feature of Rolex watches. This lens magnifies the date by approximately two and half times for clear legibility. The watches in this collection have an oyster case, which is clamped shut and extremely robust. The core of the oyster consists of a screw-down case and a signed screw-down crown with twinlock system. This system renders the watches water-resistant up to 100 metres, enabling you to wear them for poolside swimming and snorkelling. The Datejust watches come with two classic Rolex bracelets, either the Jubilee or the Oyster. The Jubilee is a five-piece metal link bracelet with a concealed Crownclasp fitted at the end, and the Oyster is a broad three-piece metal link bracelet, which is quite popular because of its classic appeal. These watches have a standard 36 mm case, and are equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex, the calibre 3135.

Associations
A Datejust was presented to an eminent gentleman by Hans Wilsdorf in 1947, on the 100,000th officially certified chronometer celebrated by the brand. The identity of this gentleman has not been revealed till this day. Christian Bale was seen wearing the Rolex Datejust 16013, in the movie American Pyscho. A Datejust has also been worn by Paul Newman in the movie The Color of Money, Bill Murray in the film Lost in Translation, and by various male characters in The Informers.
