If you have an eye for grand style and a penchant for state of the art craftsmanship, then the Rolex Datejust 116231 is the perfect timepiece for you. This advanced piece of technology tells you time with military like precision and keeps your busy schedule up to date.

The timepiece has a beautiful silver colour, round shaped dial. What makes this timepiece special is the fact that in place of numerals, the dial has delicate diamonds embedded in 18 ct gold as hour markers. The hands of the watch are also gold, rendering the watch the last word in Swiss luxury. The case window is made of sapphire crystal and is scratch resistant. The Cyclops lens set on the right side of the dial showcases the date and magnifies the number 2x times for better reading.

The mechanics of the watch are encased in a monobloc case, 36 mm in diameter and made of stainless steel and 18 ct gold. This balanced combination of colours of the case beautifully complements the silver and gold of the dial. The twin lock winding screw that is securely attached to the case provides this exclusive timepiece with added protection against damage from water and dust.

The time piece is automatic in movement so you need not take the trouble of regularly winding the watch for accurate time. The superb technology of the watch adjusts time on its own harnessing energy from the owner’s movements when it is worn.

The president style bracelet of this timepiece is also made of stainless steel with a touch of gold in the centre. Water resistance to a depth of 100 metres, allows you to incorporate the watch as a part of your daily wardrobe.

With a warranty of 2 years but a promise of a lifetime, the Rolex Datejust 116231 is an aspiration for seasoned connoisseurs and fledgling enthusiasts alike.

The Datejust collection was introduced by Rolex in the year 1945. This was the first wristwatch to display automatically changing date through an opening on the dial.

Featuring a classic design and iconic style, the Datejust features a date window located at the 3 o’clock position for your ease in viewing. The date aperture showcases the Cyclops lens on the top, the most distinctive feature of Rolex watches. This lens magnifies the date by approximately two and half times for clear legibility. The watches in this collection have an oyster case, which is clamped shut and extremely robust. The core of the oyster consists of a screw-down case and a signed screw-down crown with twinlock system. This system renders the watches water-resistant up to 100 metres, enabling you to wear them for poolside swimming and snorkelling. The Datejust watches come with two classic Rolex bracelets, either the Jubilee or the Oyster. The Jubilee is a five-piece metal link bracelet with a concealed Crownclasp fitted at the end, and the Oyster is a broad three-piece metal link bracelet, which is quite popular because of its classic appeal. These watches have a standard 36 mm case, and are equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex, the calibre 3135.

A Datejust was presented to an eminent gentleman by Hans Wilsdorf in 1947, on the 100,000th officially certified chronometer celebrated by the brand. The identity of this gentleman has not been revealed till this day. Christian Bale was seen wearing the Rolex Datejust 16013, in the movie American Pyscho. A Datejust has also been worn by Paul Newman in the movie The Color of Money, Bill Murray in the film Lost in Translation, and by various male characters in The Informers.
