History
While Rolex already specialized in timepieces when it was established, it was Hans Wilsdorf’s vision that caused the brand to branch out into the field of wrist watches.

Design
The M116231-63601_ PINK JUB 10BR Datejust is a beautiful piece made using Everose Rolessor, which is a unique combination of 18 ct Everose gold and 904 L steel. It has a fluted bezel mounted on the case in a rose gold tone. The hands of the watch are of the same colour as that of the bezel. Its dial features a pink jubilee design, which gives this timepiece an elegant touch. Hour indexes on the dial are represented by diamonds that are selected by the best diamond craftsmen in Rolex’s own foundry. In place of the twelfth hour, the Rolex crown is showcased and in place of the third hour, the date of the month can be observed.
The glass over the dial is a patented scratch resistant sapphire crystal, which renders the timepiece greatly durable. This timepiece also has a Cyclops lens placed over the date, which allows easy viewing of the date by magnifying it by 2.5 times its actual size. A jubilee five piece links bracelet is used for this model and is given a dual tone through combination of Everose gold and 904 L steel. A concealed folding crown clasp adds to the aesthetics and safety of the watch.

Features
The timepiece is called Datejust because of the date feature present on it. It is a certified Swiss chronometer- as it has been tested in different places, times and under extreme conditions. It uses a self-winding mechanical movement of 3135 caliber.  A stop seconds feature has been added in order to allow you to set time precisely to the given second. It also uses a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring that is patented by Rolex as the oscillator. This watch is made waterproof by screwing the case and the crown together to ensure that the piece is sealed tightly shut. Water resistance is to depths of 100 metres or 330 feet.

History
The Datejust collection was introduced by Rolex in the year 1945. This was the first wristwatch to display automatically changing date through an opening on the dial.

Features
Featuring a classic design and iconic style, the Datejust features a date window located at the 3 o’clock position for your ease in viewing. The date aperture showcases the Cyclops lens on the top, the most distinctive feature of Rolex watches. This lens magnifies the date by approximately two and half times for clear legibility. The watches in this collection have an oyster case, which is clamped shut and extremely robust. The core of the oyster consists of a screw-down case and a signed screw-down crown with twinlock system. This system renders the watches water-resistant up to 100 metres, enabling you to wear them for poolside swimming and snorkelling. The Datejust watches come with two classic Rolex bracelets, either the Jubilee or the Oyster. The Jubilee is a five-piece metal link bracelet with a concealed Crownclasp fitted at the end, and the Oyster is a broad three-piece metal link bracelet, which is quite popular because of its classic appeal. These watches have a standard 36 mm case, and are equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex, the calibre 3135.

Associations
A Datejust was presented to an eminent gentleman by Hans Wilsdorf in 1947, on the 100,000th officially certified chronometer celebrated by the brand. The identity of this gentleman has not been revealed till this day. Christian Bale was seen wearing the Rolex Datejust 16013, in the movie American Pyscho. A Datejust has also been worn by Paul Newman in the movie The Color of Money, Bill Murray in the film Lost in Translation, and by various male characters in The Informers.
