Hans Wilsdorf founded the company Rolex in London in 1905 when he was only 24 years old. this brand is known for the excellent timepieces that it makes, which are both stylish and hi-tech.

The Datejust Lady 31 M178240-63160_ PINK ROMAN MAXI from the Oyster Perpetual series is a classic midsized Rolex designed especially for women. This monotone watch is both versatile as well as elegant. The clock mechanism is enclosed safely within a central monobloc case with a back panel that can be easily screwed down. The material used to craft the case is 904L steel with a hi-definition finish that gives it durability. A domed bezel in the same monochrome keeps the overall guise of the watch subdued and does not detract from the appeal of the dial.

Its key highlight is its attractive dial, which is of a pale pink colour. Hour indexes are marked by Roman numerals and the stick shaped hands are in the same silver as the rest of the watch. A jubilee bracelet with its five piece link and concealed crown clasp adds to the beauty of the watch. The use of the scratch resistant and anti-reflection sapphire crystal protects the dial from accidental damage. Its anti-reflective layer allows you to read time easily even in bright daylight. A crown attached to the side of the case allows you to wind the watch and set the time with ease.

The Datejust Lady 31 M178240-63160_ PINK ROMAN MAXI has a number of features to its credit. Swiss certification of the chronograph ensures that accuracy of time is maintained, the timepiece works with smooth efficiency. The original Rolex Cyclops lens over the date window, magnifies the numbers by two and a half times their actual size, allowing you to read the date with ease. A calendar feature is placed near the 3 o’clock position and is visible through an aperture made in it. This date feature is programmed to change within a few thousand of a second at the stroke of midnight. The dial has the hour, minutes and seconds hands all positioned at the center with a stop seconds feature to provide additional precision of time. This exquisite timepiece has a mechanical, self-winding movement with a 2235 caliber. Water resistance of the timepiece is to a depth of 100 metres, due to the use of the Oyster case technology that gives the watch a twin layered protection from water.

The Datejust collection was introduced by Rolex in the year 1945. This was the first wristwatch to display automatically changing date through an opening on the dial.

Featuring a classic design and iconic style, the Datejust features a date window located at the 3 o’clock position for your ease in viewing. The date aperture showcases the Cyclops lens on the top, the most distinctive feature of Rolex watches. This lens magnifies the date by approximately two and half times for clear legibility. The watches in this collection have an oyster case, which is clamped shut and extremely robust. The core of the oyster consists of a screw-down case and a signed screw-down crown with twinlock system. This system renders the watches water-resistant up to 100 metres, enabling you to wear them for poolside swimming and snorkelling. The Datejust watches come with two classic Rolex bracelets, either the Jubilee or the Oyster. The Jubilee is a five-piece metal link bracelet with a concealed Crownclasp fitted at the end, and the Oyster is a broad three-piece metal link bracelet, which is quite popular because of its classic appeal. These watches have a standard 36 mm case, and are equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex, the calibre 3135.

A Datejust was presented to an eminent gentleman by Hans Wilsdorf in 1947, on the 100,000th officially certified chronometer celebrated by the brand. The identity of this gentleman has not been revealed till this day. Christian Bale was seen wearing the Rolex Datejust 16013, in the movie American Pyscho. A Datejust has also been worn by Paul Newman in the movie The Color of Money, Bill Murray in the film Lost in Translation, and by various male characters in The Informers.
