About the Raymond Weil Tango Collection
Essence
Erol Ozan once said, “dancing is creating a sculpture that is visible only for a moment.” To add a new life to the words of Ozan, Raymond Weil crafts timepieces that are timeless, gorgeous, fashionable and lasts for a lifetime. The Raymond Weil Tango collection draws most of its inspiration from a dance form called Tango. The idea behind naming this collection after a dance form is that the wearer gets to witness a Tango between the qualities of Raymond Weil, artistry and technique.
Features
The Raymond Weil Tango collection is defined by the six screws on the bezel. In some timepieces, these screws are complemented by the addition of a guilloche pattern on the dial. Though these six screws are the definition of the collection, they are absent on the Chronograph iteration where the screws are replaced by a tachymeter. The Chronographs are fitted with three sub-dials at 9, 6, and 3 o’clock and an unusually placed date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. For dual timers, there is a rotating bezel instead of the signature bezel. In these timepieces, the second time zone is marked by a long central hand and a date window at the 3 o’clock marker. As Tango is a dance form perfected by both men and women, the collection also fits the bill perfectly. The collection features timepieces made for women equipped with a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond-studded markers. Heaving towards simplicity but not swaying away from elegance, the collection also features lacquered dial variants with Roman numerals.
Music Icons
Raymond Weil has associated itself with music icons quite a lot of times. Ranging from David Bowie to Jimi Hendrix, the brand has a list of limited edition timepieces dedicated to legendary musicians. One such timepiece is the Tango Bob Marley Limited Edition. A GMT, the timepiece feature a lion. Lion is associated with the Rastafarian roots of Bob Marley and was made in collaboration with ‘The House of Marley’.

Raymond Weil is an independent watchmaking brand like FP Journe and few others. The brand introduced in 1976 by the Raymond Weil is taken care by his son in law and sons.the company with the tag line "precision is my inspiration "creates marvellous high quality timepieces at reasonable rates.the tango is a symbol of royalty. The roman numeral indices and the precisely cut hands on the black dial is a treat for the eyes. The chronograph sundials are graduated plain and simple.the craft manship on the inner dial is praiseworthy. The date window is similar to Alange and shone. Moreover the plush leather strap is soft and beautiful. The watch has an high quality in house movement.with all the attributes, there is a downside. The watch has low resale value incase if you are planning to sell it
Overall verdict: Best watch in the series, a challenge to the rivals (majority above 2lakh range). Great design
