About the Raymond Weil Freelancer Collection
History
Raymond Weil launched the Freelancer collection in 2007 marking a tribute to the free spirit of an artist. The collection pays homage to the creative and free mindset of freelance artists around the world. Available for men and women, the Raymond Weil Freelancer collection is a perfect embodiment of creativity.
Features
The Raymond Weil Freelancer collection fills the gap with its perfectly finished watches. Be it the Chronograph or RW1212 series, the collection never fails to amaze with its idiosyncratic personality. For intricate timekeeping, the Freelancer collection is equipped with Chronograph timepieces. With the three different placements of the chronograph dials, the versatility of the series comes into the picture. With one variation the sub-dials are fixed at the 12, 9, and 6 with a day/date window at the 3 o’clock marker that also features a tachymeter on the outer flange of the dial. The second variation is where the three chronograph sub-dials are fixed horizontally at the 9, 6, and 3 o’clock markers and a tachymeter on the bezel. Whereas, the third variation, the Freelancer Chronograph Bi-Compax is fitted with two sub-dials fixed horizontally and a tachymeter on the bezel. Apart from the tachymeter, the Bi-Compax also features a pulsometer on the outer flange of the dial with a date window at the 6 o’clock marker. Another set of timepieces defining the mechanical acumen of the brand is the Calibre RW1212. These timepieces are fitted with the first in-house movement manufactured by the brand called the RW1212. These watches are differentiated by a balance wheel fitted at the 6 o’clock marker. There is also a skeleton variant, displaying the iconic movement to its full potential. Another iconic timepiece is the Freelancer Half-Moon. A unique timepiece that displays the date with two isosceles triangles. The values ‘1-16’ are shown on an inner track, while the remaining dates are displayed above. Although the date indication exhibits extraordinary style, it remains eminently legible. For women, the Freelancer collection offers various offerings such as a mother-of-pearl dial or a diamond-studded bezel with a date window at 3 o’clock.
Music Icons
Freelancer has enjoyed various limited edition timepieces made in collaboration with legendary musical icons. Be it the Freelancer AC/DC featuring the band’s logo or the Freelancer David Bowie with Ziggy Stardust’s lightning, the collection has had its share of famous personalities on the dial. Even Jimi Hendrix’s dreamy performance in Woodstock was given a place on the Freelancer’s dial with ‘Music is my religion’ written on the tachymeter.

Amazing design by Raymond Weil Freelancer, i love this watch, The design is very simple, clean and modern, the case material is steel makes it more impressive. I like the day function at top, and the gold rose color definines the minutes very clearly while the color makes it more visible, and it has great pattern inside the dial background.

This automatic watch from Raymond Weil has both day and date features, but instead of chronograph dials, the features are housed in separate slots at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock respectively. The index as well as the hour hands are a combination of gold and white which look classy against the black dial. The automatic movement and the sapphire glass crystal adds to the price but it is still quite reasonable. The watch has a semi-formal look which goes well with both office and evening wear.
