Rado

History
In 1917, three brothers Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup established a small factory at Lengnau, in Switzerland. In 1957, this watch-works manufacturing factory turned into watch-producers. They launched their first collection of watches under the brand name of ‘Rado’ and renamed themselves after it. In 1968, the ASUAG Group acquired Rado. Subsequently, ASUAG itself became a part of the SMH Group. 1998 onwards, the SMH has been known as the Swatch Group.
Unflinching faith in the progress of technology has been the touchstone of Rado’s progress. They introduced the use of materials like ceramics, hard metal, lanthanum and sapphire crystal into the traditional watch-making industry. In 1962, the company launched the Rado DiaStar, the world’s first range of scratch proof watches. 2004 saw the company being recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the manufacturer of the hardest watch on earth, the V10K.

Design
Originally dating back to 1987, the Rado Coupole collection for men, to which this wrist watch model R22852023 belongs, has been revived and refashioned to satiate contemporary tastes. The circular silver tone dial, contrasts against rose-gold tone stick hour indices and watch hands, adding a touch of grandeur to the timepiece.
