Rado was launched in 1917 by three brothers – Fritz, Ernst, and Werner Schlup as Schlup & Co. It started in Lengnau, a small town in Switzerland. After a span of 40 years, in 1957, it came to be known as Rado Uhern AG, and launched its first watch collection. Rado’s Green Horse was one of the first models they launched, in 1958. It was advertised for its water resistivity, but also had many advanced features. Following it was the Diastar 1 in 1962. A metal was invented to combine hardness with transparency to maintain a scratch free watch over years in this timepiece. In 1967, came a unique watch called Planning, in 1976 there was the Dia67 Glissière, and several unique inventive time pieces followed since then.
The Rado Sintra R13765162-156.0765.3.016 is a black time piece for men. The black ceramic case has a diameter of 32 mm, and rests on a hi-tech ceramic bracelet of the same colour for a snug fit. The bracelet clasps through a double folding deployable push button. The case has a black push and pull crown, which allows easy winding.
The watch has a square bezel with mirror effects. It has a very attractive and simplistic black dial, with silver and opaque indices marking the hours and minutes respectively. It has skeletal silver grey hands, which add to its sophisticated demeanour. This piece is classy and dynamic.
The Rado R13765162-156.0765.3.016 has Swiss quartz movement. It is water resistant up to 30 m. It has sapphire crystal on the front, which prevents glare and protects the watch from accidental nicks and scratches. The watch performs the hours, minutes, seconds, and date functions. The date window is located at 6 o’clock.
Rado’s journey began a little less than a century ago, in the year 1917. It was the collective initiative of three brothers, namely Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup. The company was first called Schlup & Co., and was a manufacturer of clockworks only. In 1957, after a span of 40 years, the luxury Swiss watch brand launched its first collection of watches, and acquired the name of Rado. It has been a long journey since then for the watch house. Rado has made a name for itself for their unique designs and use of innovative materials in the art of watch making. They have received over 20 international awards for their ground-breaking watches.
The flow of the case and the graceful lines of the Rado Sintra’s high-tech ceramic bracelet form a harmonious frame for the flawless sapphire crystal. Expressing the Rado core value of comfort, only high-tech ceramic, sapphire crystal or titanium touch the skin.
Watches belonging to the Sintra collection feature a Swiss calibre driven, highly precise battery operated Quartz movement. Apart from displaying the regular time keeping functions of hours, minutes and seconds, the Sintra collection employs high-tech ceramic material detailing, specially crafted for the comfort of its wearers. The Sintra collection expresses Rado’s core values of impeccable designs to go well with a wide range of dresses and multiple occasions.
