Omega Olympic Collection

Essence

Since the 1932 Summer Olympics, Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympics Games. Till now, Omega has been the official timekeeper for 26 Olympics games. To celebrate its achievement in sports timekeeping, the brand launched its Olympic collection. The collection consists of watches in the series – Olympic Collection Rio 2016 and Olympic Collection Sochi 2014.

Series

Olympic Collection Rio 2016: This collection features the Speedmaster Mark II “Rio 2016”, which is a tribute to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The matte black dial of this magnificent watch consists of a small seconds sub dial at the 9 o’clock position, a 12 hour recorder at the 6 o’clock position, and a 30 minute recorder at the 3 o’clock position, decorated in a 925 silver ring, an 18 carat yellow gold ring, and a bronze ring respectively. This model has been inspired by the original Omega Speedmaster Mark II, launched in 1969. The logo of the 2016 games is stamped on the caseback along with an engraving of “Column Wheel”, “Si14”, and the limited edition number. 

Collection Sochi 2014: Three special edition watches were launched in the year before the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, to commemorate the sporting event. All the watches are embossed with the Sochi 2014 logo along with an engraving of the limited edition number and “Si14”. The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5 mm is a stainless steel watch with a matte black dial. Its applied indexes and rhodium plated hour, minutes, and seconds hand feature luminous coating for ease in keeping track of time in low visibility. The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 37.5 mm is a steel on leather strap watch, which is ideally sized for women. It features a white ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel, which is inspired by the colours of the Russian flag. The Omega Sochi Petrograd showcases an 18 carat yellow gold tonneau shaped case with an eye-catching leather strap in burgundy.
