Design
The Omega Constellation 123.50.38.21.02.001 features an 18 carat red gold case, with a fixed bezel mounted on it. The sides of the bezel exhibit the patent “griffes” or claws, which are present in all Constellation watches, and the other sides have Roman numerals calibrated on it. A silver dial, with a date window located at the 3 o’clock position, is encased inside. The dial showcases a Constellation star at the 6 o’clock position, giving it a distinctive appeal. Red gold stick shaped indexes mark the hours, and black printed sticks are used at the rim of the dial to mark the minute/second tracks.
Dauphine shaped hour and minute hands in red gold with luminescent fill adorn the dial, enabling you to view the time underwater and in dark. The movement of the watch is visible through the transparent caseback, an extravagance for the watch connoisseurs. Domed sapphire crystal has been used to protect the dial and the caseback, making them scratch resistant. The crystal features anti reflective coating, so that you can see the time even in bright sunlight. An 18 carat red gold bracelet with links has been used in the watch, which features a push button foldover clasp attached at the end. These ergonomically designed links make it easy for you to wear and remove the watch, and provide you with optimum comfort.

Features
The watch is equipped self-winding Omega Co-Axial caliber 8501 that gives accurate time. It is equipped with a free sprung balance spring, which makes the movement resistant to shocks and external damages. This timepiece is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres, and has a power reserve of 60 hours, which does not disrupt the movement of the watch for more than two days.

History
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.

Series
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.

Associations
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
