The Constellation Range has been an essential part of the Omega family since 1982, when the brand launched the first watch, titled “Constellation Manhattan”. With the launch of this watch, the world was introduced to the distinctly identifiable “griffes” or claws that featured in the ring of their timepieces. In 2009, Omega revamped the collection in its entirety to attract new customers and since then has continued to add compelling new models to widen the reach of the Constellation Collection.
Today, the collection does not simply remain limited to griffes or claws as its identifying characteristic. Although strongly rooted in the aesthetics of their iconic ancestors, the new models have incorporated breakthrough technologies to ensure that the timepieces are popular among people with a taste for innovations as well as appearance.
This brushed 18.104.22.168.02.002 model from Omega has been designed for women and features a silver dial with a golden stationary bezel mounted on top of it. Exceptional in design and detailing, the model appears appealing to the eyes because of its simplicity and uniqueness. The silver dial is adorned with golden hour markers and dauphine needles with the familiar star symbol found above the 6 o’clock window. Protected by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the model is completely scratch resistant. The 18K yellow gold bezel adds a nice contrast to the 27 mm stainless steel case and has been adorned with engraved Roman numerals to make the watch appealing. Its two toned link bracelet can be customised according to your size and fits your wrist perfectly. Owing to the timeless design and comfort provided by the watch, it can be worn on a regular basis.
Powered by the Omega caliber 1376, the watch is singular in its accuracy and reliability. The movement has been rhodium plated for an exceptional finish. This watch comes with a power reserve of 41 months. Being water resistant to a depth of 100 metres, this time tool can be worn during activities like snorkelling and swimming.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
