Launched in 1982, the luxury watch making world saw a radical breakthrough with an enduring design concept presented by Omega for ladies timepieces. Known for its iconic “Griffe” and claw material finish, the collection was redesigned and re-launched in 2009, widening the range of Constellation timepieces with more exquisite designs.
Identified with its ‘Griffes’ or Claws, the Omega Constellation 22.214.171.124.02.001 takes a modern outlook on female watches with an appealing design and exquisite material finishing. The case of this timepiece is completely fashioned out of stainless steel, brushed in silver, giving it a brilliant finish with sheer durability. The 18ct red gold coated stationary bezel inscribed with Roman numerals and adds to the feminine looks of this timepiece. Complementing the bezel is a silver dial inscribed with red gold stick indexes as the basic hour markers of the watch. Red gold toned sword arms, with white luminescent fill, renders the dial with crystal clear time reading in the night. The legendary star associated with Omega adorns the dial at the 6 O’ clock position, while the company’s logo is positioned just below the 12 O’ clock hour marker position. A red gold crown, placed on the right side of bezel, calibrates the dial motion of hour and minute hands for a précised timekeeping.
The Omega Constellation 126.96.36.199.02.001 is driven by a battery operated quartz Omega 1376 calibre, with rhodium plate finish, and has a power reserve of 48 months. The domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, with an anti-reflective coating, protects the dial from scratches while also increasing the dial readability in bright sunny contrasts. Water-resistant to a depth of 100 metres, this watch can be easily used during heavy shower of rain. The beautiful silver bracelet can be customised to fit your wrist perfectly. Sleek and slender, this watch goes well on a wide range of dresses and is apt for various occasions.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
