About the Nomos Glashutte Zurich Collection

History
Nomos is a German watchmaking company that has made its way into the watchmaking world without holding the ‘Swiss’ tag. This young watchmaking brand was established in 1990 by Roland Schwertner in Glashutte, Saxony, Germany. Roland, a fashion photographer and a computer scientist, was fond of mechanical watches and decided to pursue his passion for horology. Since then, Nomos has been producing watches with influences from German minimalism and a penchant for mechanical innovation. These precise timepieces by Nomos are not complicated and do not race towards creating unique timepieces but perfecting the art of timekeeping.

Features
“Made for the world”. The tagline carries the DNA of the Nomos Glashutte Zurich collection. Collectively, a world timer, the Zurich collection also offers a take on the classics. Being complicated is not Nomos’s cup of tea but with Zurich, things took a different turn. With that being said, the Nomos Glashutte Zurich collection still carries a sense of minimalism in its heart. With 24 city names engraved inside the dial, the Zurich collection holds the distinction of being a world timer with a classy silhouette.

Movement
Complicating the complicated complication inside this collection of timepieces is the ? (Xi) calibre. A calibre that has the calibre of being one of the most complicated movements inside the German watchmaker’s arsenal.
