Longines La Grande Classique

History
Owned by the world-renowned Swatch Group, Longines has been offering state-of-the-art timekeeping instruments and wristwatches since 1831. Some of their well-known collections include elegant watches under the La Grande Classique de Longines, Dolce Vita, and Prima Luna series, as well as sporty watches under the HydroConquest and Conquest ranges, to name a few.  The L4.709.1.97.8 model belongs to the La Grande Classique de Longines series under the Elegance collection. This highly notable series is characterised by an ultra-slim construction with eye-catching adornments on the dial or bezel.

Design
Design-wise, the L4.709.1.97.8 model by Longines is a simple-looking but exquisitely crafted timekeeper in gold finish. It sports a case size of 33mm and a smooth round shape. The dial is made of mother of pearl, over which, a glass cover, made of sapphire crystal, acts as its protector. This model has hour markers set in diamonds with hour and minute hands in black stick design. A simple push and pull crown is present at the side of the case for easy winding of the timekeeper.
The watch features a slim and strong bracelet as its strap system, and comes equipped with a convenient closure mechanism. Carefully securing the stainless steel band, and the gold-plated case together are finely polished and sturdy lugs.

Features
Longines L4.709.1.97.8 model has automatic movement and is water resistant up to 30 m. Because of its water-resistance attribute, this timekeeper can withstand liquid spill or water splashes with ease. The state-of-the-art automatic movement, on the other hand, renders it with smooth and reliable hour and minute functions. The watch’s sapphire crystal lends the timekeeper with added durability, and makes it not only sturdy but impervious to scratches and damage.
