About the Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Collection

The Atmos clocks are publicly regaled for the use of remarkable materials in clock design.  A popular 17th century furnishing, Straw Marquetry, which bestows an infinite grace in its soft radiance, has  been used to decorate the frame for the Atmos Marqueterie Paille. Precious woods of myriad origins have been used to coiffure the Atmos Marqueterie du Millenaire and the Amos Marqueterie L’Attente. The cabinets that house these perpetual time-bearers are made of opulent glass crystal conferring to the clock an ethereal-like property.

The Jaeger Le-Coultre Atmos collection prepares customers for an eternal time-keeper; a clock that lives entirely on air. This illustrious time-piece needs no fuel cells or electrical energy to further its movements, a slight temperature change of 1 degree Celsius is enough to fire up its power reserves for 48 hours. The ingenious mechanism that is as good in theory as it is in practice was a brilliant inception by Swiss engineer Jean-Leon Ruetter in 1928. This sensational model clock derives its magic from a tiny capsule that converts the slightest of temperature change into a winding mechanism. Certain models of the collection such as the Atmos Marqueterie Celeste are touted to remain accurate for 3861 years without losing a single day.

Housed in a decadent gold-plated or rhodium plated cabinet with the balance performing only two vibrations per minute; the Atmos Classique boasts of an unparalleled majestic quality in its stylish movements.  The Atmos Marqueterie is an imposing work of art, inspired by Austrian artist Gustave Klimt’s work. This involves painstaking assembly of more than 1400 elements of wood taken from 35 different wood assortments to craft an immortal time-piece. In more contemporary art forms is the Atmos 561 designed by sculptor Mark Newson which appears to be trapped in a deceptive ice box. The Atmos classique phases de lune is a model of ingenuity as it not only showcases flawlessly the phases of the moon, but has also been incorporated with a month indication feature.
