Rado Diastar

History
The three Schlup brothers, Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup, established a clockwork factory manufacturing watch movements in the small Swiss town of Lengnau, in the year 1917. With the rapid progress of technology, the brothers envisaged an expansion of their manufacturing unit to produce watches, which would revolutionise the traditional watch-making industry of the world. In 1957, therefore, their first range of watches was launched under the brand name Rado. In 1962, the company, now known as the Rado Uhren A.G., marketed the world’s first range of scratch-resistant watches under the name Rado DiaStar. The line exists even now.

Design
The elegantly crafted Rado DiaStar for women is a descendant of the original DiaStar line manufactured in 1962. Entirely scratch proof, this chic watch has a pearly silver dial with matte golden stick indices to indicate the time, which create a combined effect of a sunburst. Sapphire crystal, an innovation introduced by Rado, safeguards the watch dial against dust and scratches. The watch, therefore, retains its dapper looks for a prolonged time.
The yellow gold PVD coated polished bracelet is gently clasped around the wearer’s wrist, secured by the double-folding clasp with a push button.

Features
The watch is battery-powered and utilizes Swiss quartz technology. It also has the prominent Rado feature of water resistant capacity of 30 meters under water.
