About the Panerai Luminor Due Collection
History
Drawing away from its long-drawn tradition of large watches, Panerai decided to introduce the Luminor Due collection in 2016. A much compact, refined, and dressier version of the Luminor, the Panerai Luminor Due was a breath of fresh air inside the Panerai hangar.
Design & Features
The Panerai Luminor Due collection was launched with just two case sizes. Probably the smallest Panerai watch with a 38mm case that was released in 2018 took most of its cues from the Panerai Luminor. These watches are sufficiently narrow enough to slide under the cuff of a formal shirt. With the marginally domed crystal and angled lugs, the end result is a superbly proportionate design. The Luminor Due likewise has a unisex appeal, becoming the mainstay at the wrists of both men and women. The Panerai Luminor Due features a date window at 3 o’clock in most and a small seconds function at 9 o’clock. These two features are pretty much the same in the Luminor collection too. Whereas, the hour markers are represented by Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock.
The Complications
With the advent of the elegant yet robust Luminor Due, it was necessary to reel in a pinch of complications. These were brought inside the collection with complications such as the moon phase and GMTs. Fitted with moon phases, the Luminor Due Luna corrects the course with a realistic moon phase indicator at the 3 o’clock marker. On the other spectrum, the Luminor Due GMT Power Reserve displays a second-time zone with a long central hand. Apart from the second time zone, the timepiece also displays a power reserve indicator and also a day/night indicator on the dial with a date window at the 3 o’clock marker.
