About the Mühle-Glashütte 29er Collection

Mühle-Glashütte were commissioned to create watches capable of withstanding the rigours of the sea, an opportunity the brand seized with remarkable success. This led to the creation of the "Herren-Sporttaucher-Uhr" men's sport diving watch and the "Marinefliegeruhr I" marine pilots' watch. Although these timepieces were unnamed at the time, they laid the foundation for the brand's illustrious future portfolio of which one standout collection is the 29er. It is named after the high-performance skiff, which itself is derived from the Olympic 49er class. The design choice of adopting nautical colours not only enhances the watch's aesthetic appeal but also pays homage to their maritime origins.

Features

The Mühle Glashütte 29er collection is distinguished by a sporty and functional design, inspired by the dynamic 29er sailing dinghy. Its robust stainless steel case features alternating polished and brushed finishes, creating a captivating play of light. Notably, the flank protection surrounding the screw-down crown serves a dual purpose — enhancing the watch's robust appearance while providing essential protection against lateral impacts.

On the dial, precision meets clarity with applied hour markers set against a finely detailed minute track. This thoughtful division of the dial into two distinct sections ensures optimal legibility. Such design elements not only underscore the 29er's commitment to practical functionality but also elevate its status as a sophisticated timepiece tailored for sailing enthusiasts. For the movements, they feature Mühle's signature rotor and woodpecker neck regulation.

Iterations

The Mühle Glashütte 29er collection offers a range of meticulously crafted models. While the 29er and 29er Casual are your everyday watches with a versatile case size of 42mm, the 29er Big are for those who prefer a bolder presence. It stands out with its larger 44mm case while maintaining the collection's signature design elements. Additionally, the 29er Pointer Date, Day/Date, and Chronograph elevate the functional quotient of the collection with the introduction of practical complications.
