The Louis Moinet Time to Race is a captivating timepiece of a 40mm titanium case with motorsport-inspired aesthetics. Designed for gentlemen, the timepiece embodies the dynamic synergy between man and machine. At the heart of its design is an open-worked dial that reveals the intricate column-wheel chronograph mechanism, fully visible beneath a dramatically domed sapphire crystal. This curvature enhances the viewing experience, offering an unfiltered appreciation of the interplay between levers, clutches, and wheels as they engage with each press of the single pusher. The inner bezel ring, separate from the crystal, integrates both a tachymeter scale and a 60-second counter, reinforcing the timepiece’s racing pedigree. With its bold design and high-performance chronograph, this timepiece is an experience. Yet, what truly sets the Time to Race apart is its exclusivity. More than just a timepiece, it’s a personal statement—customisable with your chosen number on the dial, making it uniquely yours. A celebration of speed, precision, and craftsmanship, this chronograph is designed for those who chase adrenaline and demand excellence.

About the Louis Moinet Mechanical Wonders Collection
The Louis Moinet Mechanical Wonders collection epitomises the zenith of horological artistry, where each timepiece transcends its primary function as a mere timekeeper to become a remarkable testament to mechanical ingenuity. Grounded in the heritage of the brand’s visionary, often hailed as the father of the chronograph, this collection draws upon a rich tradition of innovation. It captures the spirit of exploration and precision that characterised Moinet's work in the early 19th century. Mechanical Wonders presents a series of exquisite timepieces that invite admiration not only for its timekeeping but also for their role as works of contemporary mechanical art.
Design And Iterations
Each piece in the collection pays homage to the brand’s founding ethos and innovative spirit, introducing iconic iterations that transcend traditional watchmaking. Starting with the Memoris, Louis Moinet celebrate their invention of the first chronograph, distinguished by its single pusher and a sub-dial for timekeeping adorned with dewdrop hands. The collection’s urban-inspired Metropolis takes a more contemporary direction, embracing a steampunk aesthetic with satin-finished markers, ‘Gouettes de Rosée’ hands, and an exposed section of the dial. This unique design, complemented by a small seconds sub-dial at nine o’clock, merges architectural appeal with modern luxury.
The brand’s mechanical creativity is vividly illustrated in the Derrick series by incorporating a miniature automaton of an oil derrick powered by the watch’s movement, completing a cycle every fifteen seconds. In the Tempograph, the collection introduces a striking retrograde hand that resets every twenty seconds, creating a hypnotic rhythm against an openwork dial that reveals the LM50 movement. Similarly, the Geograph presents a chronograph with aventurine sub-dials set within a durable titanium case, a nod to both luxury and resilience. The brand’s dedication to rarity shines through the Astronef, with its dual satellite tourbillons, and the Time to Race, crafted specifically for automotive enthusiasts. Models such as the Wabar Tourbillon, incorporating a meteorite fragment, and the T-Rex Tourbillon, embedded with a fossil of a T-Rex, further emphasise the brand’s pursuit of extraordinary materials.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The Louis Moinet calibre LM96, released in 2021, is a high-end automatic movement that powers the Time to Race watches. LM96 operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a 48-hour power reserve. It is made up of 311 components, featuring precise finishings with Côtes de Genève, circular graining, and diamond-polished bevels. The calibre supports a column wheel chronograph function through a modern design that separates the mechanism into two parts—147 for the upper part and 164 components for the lower part of the movement. Like all Louis Moinet movements, this one also features the concentric Clous de Paris rotor.
