About the HAUTLENCE Linear Series 2 Collection

Introduced as a follow-up to the highly regarded Linear Series 1, Linear Series 2 showcases Hautlence’s continued commitment to revolutionising the way time is displayed. The collection embodies the brand’s signature blend of mechanical ingenuity and cutting-edge design, all while embracing a bolder, sportier aesthetic. What sets the Linear Series 2 apart is its introduction of the linear retrograde hours display, a first for the brand. This breakthrough continues their tradition of creating timepieces that not only tell time but also offer a fascinating visual experience. Limited to just 28 pieces, the Linear Series 2 has quickly become a coveted item, capturing the attention of both collectors and industry experts for its bold reimagining of traditional horology.

Design And Features

At the heart of the Linear Series 2 lies a distinctive design ethos that blends innovation with haute horlogerie finishing. The black PVD-coated stainless steel case, which measures 43mm, maintains Hautlence’s signature rectangular TV shape but with more streamlined proportions, emphasising a modern, sportier aesthetic. The dial showcases multi-layered architecture, with 3D Globolight indexes that create a sense of depth and texture. Central to its uniqueness is the linear retrograde hours display, which features a long arm that moves horizontally across the dial. This kinetic display not only makes time-telling dynamic but also offers a nod to Hautlence’s earlier movements.

Adding to its visual drama is the one-minute flying tourbillon at six o’clock, housed beneath a blue openworked bridge. With every revolution of the tourbillon, the intricate mechanics and double hairspring become mesmerising to observe, reinforcing Hautlence’s mastery of precision engineering. Powering the Linear Series 2 is an in-house automatic movement that boasts a robust 72-hour power reserve. The movement is designed to ensure that the linear hours display functions seamlessly, driven by a snail cam mechanism that resets once the hour indicator passes twelve. The precision of the tourbillon further enhances the watch’s overall performance, showcasing Hautlence’s commitment to both technical and aesthetic excellence.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

Hautlence use calibre D50 to power their Linear Series 1 and 2 watches. It is based on H. Moser & Cie's automatic tourbillon movement HMC 804 and features a unique display module developed by Agenhor, an independent movement manufacturer. This movement efficiently drives the watches' one-minute tourbillon, linear retrograde jumping hour, and central minutes. Composed of 239 components and 39 jewels, the movement has an operating frequency of 21,600bph and provides a power reserve of 72 hours. It carries a contemporary look with brushed bridges and a rotor featuring the brand’s Moebius logo.
