About the Frederique Constant Highlife Collection
Introduced over 20 years ago, the original Frederique Constant Highlife collection made a significant impact on both the brand and the watchmaking industry. It was distinguished by its innovative strap system integrated into the case, setting it apart from other timepieces. Initially launched with the Triple Time series, the Highlife collection soon expanded to include models featuring a tourbillon and the distinctive heartbeat aperture. In 2020, the collection was revitalised with new and updated models: the Highlife Automatic COSC, the Highlife Heart Beat, and the Highlife Perpetual Calendar Manufacture.
Design Evolution And Craftsmanship
The 2020 Highlife collection reinterprets the 1999 design with a contemporary flair. The models feature a barrel-shaped case with distinctive half-moon facets and a round bezel framing a large dial. The dial showcases a globe motif, symbolising balance and perfection, and is adorned with a grid pattern that represents global coordinates. The integrated H-link bracelet allows for easy interchangeability between a steel bracelet, leather, crococalf suede, or rubber strap and comes with a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, ensuring durability and clarity. Each model in this series features a caseback with an open dial, revealing the intricate movement within and includes a screw-down crown and pushers for enhanced water resistance.
The timepieces in this collection are available in stainless steel or pink gold-plated options. The Highlife Automatic COSC is powered by the COSC-certified FC-303 movement, ensuring high precision. The Highlife Heart Beat showcases its inner workings through a 12 o’clock aperture and is driven by the FC-310 automatic movement. Meanwhile, The Highlife Perpetual Calendar Manufacture, equipped with the in-house FC-775 movement, offers a perpetual calendar and moon phase complication. Each model blends modern style with practical functionality, catering to a range of luxury sports watch preferences.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The FC-775 calibre, which was launched in 2016, is the result of a three-year collaboration between Manuel Da Silva Matos, R&D director, and Pim Koeslag, ex-technical director of Frederique Constant. This automatic movement, also known as the Frederique Constant calibre FC-100, features a perpetual calendar and is well-equipped to display hours, minutes, moon phases, date, day, month, and leap year. Once programmed, it accounts for the varying lengths of different months, the 28-day February, and the leap year cycle by including a 29th of February every four years. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 38-hour power reserve, the movement measures 30mm in diameter and 6.7mm thick. Comprising 191 parts and 26 jewels, the movement's blue bridge colour provides contrast with the steel and gold components, enhancing the overall mechanical aesthetic.
