About the Edouard Koehn World Heritage I Collection

The World Heritage I collection, introduced in 2021, is a remarkable example of Edouard Koehn’s ability to combine practicality with high-level craftsmanship. Featuring a world-time complication and an alarm, the collection offers a rare combination of functions that are not only highly practical but also executed with precision. The collection’s primary appeal lies in its world time feature, designed to help globetrotters keep track of multiple time zones. The main cities of each time zone are listed around the dial, with a 24-hour ring that shows day and night using light grey and black sections. This thoughtful design allows one to monitor international times at a glance, offering both utility and style for those navigating different time zones regularly.

Design And Craftsmanship

The World Heritage I is available in various dial colours, including anthracite, silver, and black, allowing wearers to choose according to their aesthetic preferences. However, the design is consistent across all iterations: large Alpha hands and Arabic numerals at three, six, and nine provide clear time-telling, while the sunray finished ring adds a sophisticated touch. The attention to detail is evident in the slim alarm hand, marked by a red arrowhead, which ensures easy readability for the alarm setting. The use of Grade five titanium for the case brings a range of advantages, including a lightweight and hypoallergenic build. Its acoustic properties also enhance the alarm function, providing a clear sound without compromising on comfort. The case, measuring 42 mm, is water-resistant up to 5 bars, ensuring its versatility in various environments.

Inside the World Heritage I is the EK-MVTWTA01 calibre, a mechanical self-winding movement developed in collaboration with Concepto. This movement, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback offers a 48-hour power reserve. Its double barrel allows for the simultaneous winding of both the time and alarm functions. Limited to only 88 pieces, the collection reflects the brand's dedication to exclusivity and technical mastery, making it a true collector's piece.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

The EK-MVTWTA01 calibre is an automatic movement developed in collaboration with Concepto to power the world timer and alarm functions in the prestigious World Heritage II watches. The calibre operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a solid 48-hour power reserve. One of its key features is the double-barrel system, which simultaneously powers both the watch and its alarm functions. It also comes with a central automatic rotor, which winds both barrels in opposite directions, ensuring optimal energy efficiency. The movement showcases a series of elegant finishes, including intricate perlage, Geneva stripes on the central oscillating mass, a sunburst pattern on the wheels, and blued screws.
