About the Edouard Koehn Tempus I Collection
The journey of the Tempus I began with its inception in the heart of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Developed in collaboration with an independent manufacturer of haute horlogerie movements, the watch showcases a fusion of tradition and modernity. Each component of the automatic chronograph movement is meticulously crafted and assembled according to the highest Swiss standards, ensuring exceptional chronometric performance. The Tempus I exemplify this philosophy by presenting a luxury sports watch with a distinct personality. It balances the elegance of traditional aesthetics with modern design elements, offering both classic closed dials and a uniquely textured “Clous de Paris” style. This versatility makes this collection a perfect choice for those who value heritage and modernity in their timepieces.
Design And Iterations
Drawing inspiration from the sports watches of the 1970s, each iteration in the collection showcases unique design elements that cater to diverse tastes while remaining faithful to the brand’s rich legacy. The Tempus I Squadron Collection pays homage to the classic sports watch aesthetic with its aeronautical-inspired Arabic numerals and tri-compax chronograph dials. Featuring ceramic bezels and rubber straps, these models create a sporty and bold appearance while offering water resistance up to 100 metres, combining functionality with striking visual appeal.
In contrast, the Tempus I Clous de Paris Collection derives its name from the distinctive guilloché pattern on its dial, characterised by tiny pyramidal shapes. This design showcases the brand's commitment to traditional craftsmanship while offering a dynamic and contemporary look that appeals to modern watch enthusiasts. Furthermore, the Tempus I Skeleton Collection reveals the intricate mechanics of its movement through an openworked dial, emphasising Edouard Koehn's technical prowess. This iteration highlights the tri-compax chronograph movement alongside a date chapter ring, effectively merging the brand's storied heritage with a bold, transparent aesthetic that captivates the eye.
