About the Eberhard & Co. Extra-Fort Collection
The Extra-fort collection represents a significant milestone in the history of watchmaking. Introduced in the 1940s, this chronograph marked the beginning of a new era for Eberhard & Co. Today, the Extra-fort remains renowned and has been reinterpreted with modern sensibilities. Powered by a mechanical automatic movement with sliding pushers, it retains the spirit and charm of the original Extra-fort. The collection continues its legacy from the 1950s when it became the brand's most celebrated line, beloved by watch enthusiasts. The Extra-fort collection was also home to Eberhard's first-ever split-seconds chronograph, impressing the motorsport community with their technical sophistication and legibility. The collection features a range of bi-compax and tri-compax chronographs made from a variety of materials such as steel and rose gold. With a diverse selection of dial colours and strap options, the collection offers great versatility.
Iterations
The Extra-fort Roue à Colonnes Grande Date is a mechanical chronograph that seamlessly blends aesthetic and elegance, balancing tradition and innovation. Its chronograph functions are controlled by a column wheel mechanism, utilising a modified mechanical movement with automatic winding that operates through a unique and exclusive process. This precise mechanism is visible through the sapphire glass caseback. Showcasing a meticulously crafted dial, the Extra-fort Roue à Colonnes Grande Date echoes the elegant appeal of its predecessors.
The Extra-fort Automatic collection consists of mechanical automatic winding watches rendered in steel, 18kt pink gold, or white gold. These timepieces come in "just time" or "Grande Date" versions, some also featuring a power reserve. The "just time" version offers a wide range of dial options, from classic anthracite to vibrant blue. The special Grande Date and Grande Date Réserve de Marche models boast a big date aperture at 12 and a transparent sapphire glass caseback, revealing the Côtes de Genève adorned movement. They are equipped with sapphire glass and caseback secured by screws.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
