About the Doxa SUB 200 Collection
History
The Doxa SUB 200 is reminiscent of the recreational diving watches prevalent in the 1960s. With many similarities such as the protective case or the metronome styled seconds hands, the Doxa SUB 200 was launched in Baselworld 2019.
Features
The entry into the Doxa family is through the reliable and useful Doxa SUB 200 collection. Equipped with a 42mm wide steel case, the Doxa SUB 200 offers a water resistance of up to 200 meters, thus the name SUB 200. The Doxa SUB 200 is also equipped with a date window at 3 o’clock. Doxa has a fascinating way of colour coding their watches. Series such as Sharkhunter, Searambler, Caribbean, Divingstar, Aquamarine, and Professional offer a vibrant hue of colours with monochromatic additions too. For example, the Sharkhunter series is offered in a black dial, the Searambler in white, the Caribbean in Blue, and the Professional in Orange. Though they are just a variety of dial colours, the SUB 200 is also available in matching rubber straps. If rubber straps are something that does not suit one’s lifestyle, the Doxa SUB 200 is also available in a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp that features the proprietary Doxa fish symbol.
Movement
The Doxa SUB 200 is equipped with the workhorse of the watchmaking industry, the ETA 2824-2. The 2824-2 is in production since 1982 and has become quite well-known in the industry. The “-2” denotes that this is the second generation of the 2824 series. The movement provides a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and offers a frequency of 28,800 vph.
