About the Cuervo y Sobrinos Churchill Collection
The Churchill collection reverently honours the enduring legacy of Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, a figure of remarkable distinction who held a profound appreciation for life's finer nuances and harboured a deep fondness for Cuba and its hospitable people. Notably, he was a cherished patron of the Cuervo y Sobrinos store in Havana, joining other luminaries such as Hemingway and Einstein. Comprising timepieces that transcend eras, the Churchill collection exudes timeless elegance, characterised by classic and refined elements woven throughout each watch.
Celebrating The Greatest British Statesman With Fine Luxury Timepieces
In February 1945, Sir Winston Churchill convened with Roosevelt and Stalin for historic deliberations shaping the future of post-war Europe against the backdrop of Crimea's picturesque Yalta. The Robusto Churchill “Yalta Edition” was introduced in 2020 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of this significant moment in 20th-century history. The Yalta Edition showcase a minimal and supple case shape along with an understated pattern on the dial. Furthermore, the caseback features an engraving of Churchill and Roosevelt, a signifier of their friendship during testing times.
Building upon the triumph of its Robusto Churchill ‘Yalta Edition', Cuervo y Sobrinos launched the Churchill ‘Sir Winston' in 2021—a limited-edition masterpiece featuring a vividly-coloured guilloché dial. Delicately etched with a Clous de Paris motif resembling interwoven arcs, the dial is the biggest highlight of Sir Winston watches, showcasing two apertures positioned elegantly displaying the day and date.
The maison further expanded the collection with the Churchill 1895 GMT that celebrates the British statesman's affinity for travel. Additionally, this timepiece honours his adventurous spirit and commemorates his bold decision to remain in Cuba during the 1895 war. An elegant construction, signature guilloché dial, and GMT function characterise the Churchill 1895 GMT collection.
Each timepiece in this distinguished collection is limited to 200 pieces carrying Winston Churchill's signature on the caseback, embodying exclusivity and refined craftsmanship.
