About the Armin Strom Resonance Collection
Resonance, a phenomenon where two oscillating bodies naturally synchronise, has captivated watchmakers for centuries. However, few have managed to harness its full potential for wristwatches. Armin Strom’s Resonance collection has achieved this through their patented Resonance Clutch Spring, a technological breakthrough that directly connects two oscillators. This allows the watches to achieve resonance swiftly, enhancing precision and stability despite the dynamic motion of a wristwatch. The Resonance Clutch Spring is a defining feature of the collection, offering improved chronometry by ensuring the balance wheels synchronise effectively. This remarkable mechanism corrects deviations in one movement by aligning it with the other, making these timepieces a triumph in mechanical engineering.
Design And Iterations: Aesthetic And Functional Excellence
The Mirrored Force Resonance exemplifies the collection's technical ingenuity and visual appeal. It features the ARF15 movement and a guilloche dial, with additional sandblasted variations. Its dual triple-hand seconds sub-dials synchronise seamlessly, visually illustrating the resonance phenomenon. To celebrate their achievements, Armin Strom introduced the Resonance Zeitgeist, a platinum-cased timepiece with a transparent skeleton dial. Drawing inspiration from the Mirrored Force Resonance, it retains the dual triple-hand seconds sub-dials, combining technical prowess with striking design. For a more refined aesthetic, the Pure Resonance offers a less intricate dial design while maintaining the synchronised balance wheel display. Available in a variety of dial colours, including Salmon, Sea Green, and Black Gold, it caters to a diverse audience without compromising its horological complexity.
Building on their previous achievements, the Dual Time GMT Resonance utilises two independent movements within a single case. Each movement drives its own dial, allowing the display of two distinct time zones, all while maintaining resonance synchronisation. Housed in a bold, oversized case characteristic of their Masterpiece series, the watch measures approximately 59mm x 43.4mm and is nearly 16mm thick. While these dimensions make it a statement piece, the case design also ensures ample space to showcase the technical marvel of two independently settable dials synchronised by resonance. This model combines the engineering brilliance of their previous collections, such as the Pure Resonance and Mirrored Force Resonance, with enhanced functionality. Their in-house manufacturing process ensures meticulous attention to every movement component, resulting in Armin Strom watches for men that are both innovative and visually captivating.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The Armin Strom Calibre ARF21 is a remarkable manual-winding movement that epitomises the brand's dedication to horological innovation. At its core lies the patented Resonance Clutch Spring that synchronises two independent balance wheels. This extraordinary mechanism stabilises the oscillations of both wheels, resulting in a more consistent rate and less susceptibility to shocks or positional variances. A prominent feature of the ARF21 is its twin-second indicators, each linked to one of the balance wheels, offering a real-time display of the resonance in action. These indicators can be synchronised through a flyback function, activated by a pusher on the case, adding an interactive dimension to this technical marvel. The movement is driven by two independent barrels, providing a 48-hour power reserve, while its frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour (vph) ensures exceptional precision. Comprising 39 jewels and 276 meticulously crafted components, the ARF21 showcases unparalleled craftsmanship. The dual-regulation system, coupled with the Resonance Clutch Spring, marks a reimagining of resonance in watchmaking, positioning this movement as one of the most advanced and reliable ever made.
