It was Pierre Jaquet-Droz’s passion for watchmaking, inherited by his relatives that brought this exclusive brand to life. From 1738 to 1747, he devoted himself entirely to clock making and produced a series of longcase (or "grandfather") clocks whose increasingly sophisticated movements that were unlike any other clocks ever made in that era.
The Grande Seconde collection is heavily inspired by the Pocket Watch created by Pierre Jaquet-Droz in 1784, spreading its aegis over the Jaquet Droz brand. It is universally recognized for the avant-garde lines of its design and extreme sophistication.
Jaquet-Droz’s passion to construct handmade movements, meticulous nature and serious approach to craft, as well as the reasoned application of mechanical principles, led them to to add music and automata to his movements, which came rapidly to the attention of wealthy connoisseurs across the world
