Swiss watchmaker Edox has a legacy of over 130 years, and has been a top choice in the world of nautical and aquatic sports for decades. However, its first major appearance in the world of motor rallying happened in 2010, when it became the official timekeeper for the World Rally Championship, and launched a new collection dedicated to rally drivers. Then again, in 2012, Edox was named the timekeeper for the Dakar Rally, the Extreme Sailing Series.
Edox has two Chronorally collections, simply called Chronorally, and Chronorally 1. The focus, for both these collections is to meet the obsessively high standards of both accuracy and endurance that all Chronorally equipment must have. These watches need to survive the harshest of conditions, such as speed, mud, snow, shocks and heat. Edox Chronorally timepieces, therefore, are compositions of tough rubber bands, stainless steel cases, and precise movements. The Edox Chronorally timepieces feature a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, with 100m water-resistance for durability. They all have chronographs, luminescent hands and indices, stainless steel, or titanium cases. The rubber strap of the collections feature tyre prints as a strong statement. Some of the watches such as Chronorally Chronograph Automatic also feature transparent case-backs. Powered by a Quartz movement, the collection inspires accuracy and reliability.
This Edox collection has no shortage of fans, and has been sported by some top rally drivers such as Swiss driver Michael Burri.
