BVLGARI Watches - The Roman Roots

BVLGARI, an Italian brand inspired by rich Roman history honours its culture and heritage through modern design and products ranging from jewellery, fragrances, and accessories to watches. Harmonized with Rome’s ancient history, BVLGARI incorporates the city’s symbolism while innovating its design for the future. BVLGARI is also known for designing and manufacturing high-quality jewellery, bags, and accessories.

In order to honour its ancient Roman history, the brand integrated the Latin “V” epigraphy of its family name into the logo. The first time this logo was revealed to the world was in 1934 at the renovated BVLGARI store in Italy.

With a history dating back to 1884, BVLGARI watches opened their pioneer shop in Via Dei Condotti. In 2014 BVLGARI finished 130 years of excellence in luxury. From its origin at the Via dei Condotti flagship store to a diversified global presence today, BVLGARI watches has managed to create a name for itself like no other luxury brand. BVLGARI has held and still continues to hold records for making the thinnest timepieces. This brand even created the thinnest tourbillon and the thinnest minute repeater. These creations are the reason BVLGARI holds an esteemed position in the watchmaking industry.

You understand the popularity of BVLGARI from its many fan followers. Richard Burton said once, “The only word Elizabeth knows in Italian is BVLGARI.” This mere statement makes you realize how diversified and extraordinary the popularity of the brand is. BVLGARI managed to reinterpret the mystic beauty of the Roman era through its iconic designs and use of rare stones. One collection that stands out is the Serpenti. First introduced in the 1940s, the Serpenti is installed with the patented Tubogas technology. Also known as the ‘Jeweller to the Stars’, BVLGARI had fans like Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Ingrid Bergman, and Grace Kelly. These stars were particularly attracted to BVLGARI’s jewellery collection. A collection that even left a mark on their watchmaking acumen. The latest iteration of their jewellery collection specifically for the Indian market is the BVLGARI Mangalsutra. A timeless take on the Indian tradition of uniting two souls. BVLGARI offers a wide range of collections such as BVLGARI BVLGARI, Octo, Gerald Genta, and Grande Complications. For women, BVLGARI offers a much wider collection of watches such as Serpenti, Diva’s Dream, Lvcea, Bvlgari Bvlgari, and Grande Complications.

The Serpenti

The iconic collections by BVLGARI include Serpenti, BVLGARI BVLGARI, Octo, Diagono, and so on.

With a cult following, the Serpenti collection is a tribute to the ‘Warmth and Splendour’ of gold. Dubbed the ‘most iconic women’s watch’ by Forbes, the Serpenti collection is available in two different iterations. One is the rose gold plated and the other is the two-tone Seduttori.

The BVLGARI BVLGARI

In 1975, a watch was gifted by BVLGARI to its top 100 customers. Called the ‘BVLGARI Roma’, this digital watch later became the BVLGARI BVLGARI collection. The most popular timepiece from this collection is the Solotempo watch. A homage to the original model with a mechanical movement, it is equipped with 41mm of stainless steel and a black leather bracelet.

The Octo

With its Italian roots and Swiss watchmaking standards, BVLGARI came up with the Octo collection. A particular timepiece of interest in this collection is the Octo Finissimo, a watch with the title of being the ‘World’s slimmest self-winding watch with a chronograph and GMT’. The latest iteration of the renowned Octo Finissimo is the addition of steel in this collection.

The BVLGARI Aluminium collection is a set of lightweight, minimalist timepieces cased inside aluminium, a step towards disregarding the old definitions of luxury as being gem-studded pieces.

Each watch is a fashion statement in itself and stands out from the crowd thanks to its unique design and unparalleled technology.
