EDOX Class 1 Chronoffshore Professional10:06 am
In 1884 Christian Ruefli-Flury, the highly talented and romantic watchmaker “Maître- Horloger” set up his own watchmaking company in Biel, a city famous for its well-educated watch engineers. Brand “Edox” which means “measuring of time” in ancient Greek, was born that year. The hourglass which was adopted back then has always been a proud part of the timeless Edox logo.
With over 130 years of watchmaking heritage, Edox has always made highly water resistant timepieces that withstand shocks and maintain good accuracy in the most adverse conditions.
Instead of a computer-generated design, each watch is first hand drawn for a more organic look, ensuring continuity and a highly recognisable product design. Edox has several innovations to the it’s credit such as the crown with double gasket, the shock absorbing gasket, the world’s first combined display in a world timer, the world’s thinnest watch movement with calendar complication.
Edox is the official timing partner of the Class-1 World Powerboat Championship, the high-class offshore races known as the Formula 1 of the seas. The Edox Class 1 is one of the most legendary collections ever made by the brand, bringing together function and design like never before. The timepieces have to meet very high standards and are equipped with super water resistance, ceramic bezels and carbon fibre dials.
Edox Class I Chronoffshore Automatic 01114 3 NIN
The adrenaline rush of the high speed Class-1 Powerboat Challenge is what the Edox Class 1 Chronoffshore Automatic captures in its sporty and bold design.
The solid 45mm stainless steel case has a black ceramic diver’s bezel with white markings which matches perfectly the carbon fibre dial, chequered black and white like a racing flag with nickel indexes and black chronograph sub dials, visible through the anti reflective sapphire. A large red coloured ‘1’ is marked in Arabic numerals at 1’o’clock to easily identify the collection and as a reference to Class-1 Powerboat races. The watch is powered by a self-winding Edox 11 movement with chronograph, day and date features. The helium escape valve, screw-down crown and pushers, black rubber strap, make the watch water resistance upto 500m, thus suitable for offshore racing and professional diving.
Made of high tech steel the Class-1 plate decorates the flank while the caseback has the design of the propeller used by Powerboats embossed on it.
The Class 1 collection features many variants of the high precision Edox Chronograph. All sporting the brightly coloured 1’o’clock in Arabic numeral as a mark of the iconic collection.
Edox Class I Chronoffshore 10020 37N NV
Another dynamic variant in the same collection the Ref.10020 37N NV model has striking green luminous markings on the hands and at the 1’o’clock position on the dial.
The striking black PVD stainless steel 45mm case houses a carbon fiber dial again in chequered racing flag design with chronograph sub-dials and big date window.
The Caseback is Black PVD stainless steel with the Class 1 Powerboat Propeller embossed on it.
The watch is powered by an Edox 10 Quartz movement with chronograph and date features. Water resistance of 300m, screw-down crown and pushers, and a black rubber strap make this Edox most suitable for offshore racing and diving.
Edox Class I Chronograph Big Date 10012 37N NRO
The Ref.10012 37N NRO variant of the same collection sports a big date window on the dial and sub-dials in a different position from the previous models. The black PVD stainless steel 45mm case and black ceramic bezel house a carbon fibre dial again in chequered racing flag design with chronograph sub-dials. The watch is powered by an Edox 10 Quartz movement with chronograph and date features.
There is a red accent in the sub-dials and at the pushers. The Edox logo on the crown is also in red. The watch is water resistant to 300m, suitable for offshore racing and diving.
