In 1860, Edouard Heuer started a company named Uhrenmanufaktur Heuer, in the small Swiss village of Saint Imier. Techniques d'Avant Garde bought the company rights in 1985, and changed the name of the brand from Heuer to TAG Heuer. TAG Heuer, known specifically for assembling watches, which feature chronographs, got its first chronograph patented in 1882, and the year 1887, saw them patenting an 'oscillating pinion', which most modern day watchmakers still utilize.
The TAG Heuer Link Collection, Model- WJ1319.BA0572, features a classic feminine design based on a 27 mm round, stainless steel case. Its mother of pearl dial, studded with diamonds as indexed hour markers, give the watch a graceful appearance. The hour hands have been brushed using luminescent markers, which ensure their visibility in the dark. A screw down crown and stainless steel bezel further enhances the charm of the timepiece. A date display window also makes its presence felt at 3 o’ clock.
Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is the material used for making the case window, which provides the watch with a long life. The beautiful bracelet, made of stainless steel, makes this timepiece the perfect accessory to accompany any type of outfit.
An exceptional blend of design and technology, the TAG Heuer Link Collection, WJ1319.BA0572 never fails to captivate your mind. The mechanism of this timepiece is provided by extremely accurate quartz or automated movement. The functions of the watch include the basic display of hours, minutes and seconds along with the date specified. Water resistance up to 200 m, makes it suitable to be worn while swimming or water sports.
TAG Heuer boasts of its association with the sports world since long, justifying its image as an extravagant brand, possessing an inventive fortitude. The three Summer Olympic Games of the 1920s, the Formula One World Championships, and the Skiing World Championships have selected the brand to be their official timekeeper. Moreover, a timepiece for the McLaren F1 team has also been developed by TAG Heuer.
One of their most iconic watch collections, the TAG Heuer’s Link was revamped in 2011. It was originally introduced in the 1980s and has been a big part of the brand’s ethos since then. The core of the Link collection is connected to its bracelet that offers a unique feel and look.
The bracelet tends to be the standout factor for this collection with Tag Heuer having restructured the aesthetic substantially. The links in the bracelet tend to be flatter and angular with the space between the parts reduced compared to the older models. The bracelet was designed to have no exposed pins on either side illustrating some very ingenious engineering. The bezels stand out being polished, containing Roman or Arabic numerals. Instead of being round, the bezel ring tilts down giving it an interesting cushion shape.
The standard quartz watch is 40mm wide with a three-hand movement and is known as the Link Watch with Quartz Movement. The Calibre 6 model is 40 mm wide and also showcases a subsidiary seconds hand. The 42 mm wide Calibre 5 automatic features day-date functions.
