About the TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Collection
History
The launch of the Grand Carrera series in 2007 marked a crucial turning point for TAG Heuer as they had to overcome the difficult task of reaching out to a new segment of older buyers, many of whom had never owned a watch by the brand before. TAG Heuer met this challenge with an undaunted spirit and went on to position the Grand Carrera as one of the world’s leading high-end watch collections. The Grand Carrera range is a premium design series combining many bestselling features to give watches that are extensive in functionality and outstanding in aesthetics.
Design
Signature aesthetic elements comprise a hand-applied logo, applied hour markers, rotating system disc, extensive Cotes de Genève finishing, double Sapphire case back and a double-crown. Each model in the series is available in a stainless steel bracelet, rubber strap or a crocodile leather strap. The standout design element of this series is the Rotating System (RS) disc used in all the models. The discs replace the traditional sub-dials. These discs have been elaborately decorated with semi-circular polished frames and impart the collection with a unique touch.
Features
The Grand Carrera is the only one of TAG Heuer’s watches that is not available as a quartz version. All the models are automatic and their automatic movements have been COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) certified to guarantee precision and durability.

This finely crafted watch is an symbol of grandeur and luxury from the house of Tag Heuer . Designed with perfection and fitted with intricate mechanism this watch is a fine addition to its unique collection of Grand Carrera Cal 17 family. This watch features dual toned bezel made from stainless steel and 18k rose gold having tachymeter inscribed on it with a beautifully crafted brown crocodile leather strap. The aesthetic feature of this watch is the artistic shining silver colored dial equipped with two beautiful smiley faced chronographs made of 18k rose gold placed at 3 o' clock and 9 o' clock positions. The robust sapphire crystal glass makes it sturdy and can resist water up to a level of 100 m.

The GC Is The Only Series In The TAG Heuer Range Not To Be Offered As A Quartz Version. Not Only Are All Models Automatic, But All Are Chronometers, Meaning That Their Automatic Movements Have Been COSC Certified. The Design Signature Of The Watch Is The Rotating System (RS) Disc Which Replace The Traditional Sub-Dials And Are Decorated Elaborately With Semi-Circular, Polished Frames. It Gives The Grand Carrera Watch A Unique Look And It Is Definitely A More Premium Watch Than The Carrera.

The sleek styling speaks for itself. This masterpiece is nothing less than a work of art and is a must for connoisseurs of chronographs. A faboulous and exclusive Rotating System adds only more diamonds to the sparkling glory of this racing inspired time piece. The TAG Heuer Rotating System replaces traditional hands with dashboard style discs making an optimum readability while maintaining effortless elegance. On the Grand CARRERA Calibre 17 RS chronograph the Rotating Systems show a permanent seconds hand at 3 o'clock and chrono minutes at 9 o'clock. The date display is at 6 o'clock. The Grand CARRERA Calibre 17 Automatic Chronograph comes in a choice of luxury finishings. They all have a sapphire crystal fitted into the caseback which reveals the movement. This sapphire is cut from a polished slice of solid sapphire that has been created by the fusion and crystallization of alumina. Sapphire is so hard that only a diamond can scratch it.
As an officially certified chronometer, it is given a booklet and a C.O.S.C. card by TAG Heuer. The individual number printed on the card corresponds to the number engraved on the movement certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Control. Each of these movements is a unique object that has been produced with the greatest possible care and is an authentic masterpiece of watchmaking. The C.O.S.C. Chronometer Certificate: a sign of very high precision and quality.
The chronograph make it possible to measure times of up to 12 hours with an accuracy of 1/8th of a second. This beauty is fitted with very high frequency Swiss movements and represent one of the great achievements in the long watchmaking tradition and history of the company. The principal characteristics of this automatic
chronograph is reliability, simplicity of use and a highly legible display having a number of useful functions for professional and leisure sporting activities, as well as for everyday use i.e. Simple time measurement and Additional time measurement.
For those with racing in their pulse, the tachymeter indicates the average speed of a car, for example, by measuring the time taken to cover a given distance (a kilometer or a mile). This watch leaves no stone unturned when it comes to enigma of an ideal watch.
With a Balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and Power reserve of about 42 hours, one can have a total reliability on this outstanding tastefully made watch. This watch is decorated with Openworked oscillating mass: "Côtes de Genève" engraved "TAG Heuer — Calibre 17 — Chronometer Swiss Made".
Each of this piece goes through a series of 60 tests and rigorous inspection. It comes with a 2 year international warranty involving all the authorised retailers.
The Grand Carrera models were first introduced by Tag Heuer in 2007. This new range of timepieces was significant on two counts. First of all the range was to become an upgraded luxury timepiece based on the original and famous Carrera. Secondly, the Grand Carrera would be the chosen vehicle for a brand new concept in mechanical time display by virtue of the innovative RS (Rotating System) movements.
All I can say is this watch has created a benchmark in the history of watch making. A grand appeal with authentic style, this watch is nothing less than a collector's item and a must buy! -
