About the TAG Heuer Calibre 5 Collection
The TAG Heuer Calibre 5 is a Swiss-made automatic calibre based on the ETA 2824-2 movement. It powers some of the most high-performance watches created by Tag Heuer.
The diameter of the calibre is 26mm or 11.5 inches. It comprises 25 to 26 rubies, depending on the implementation. The back case of all watches powered by this calibre display the Oscillating mass- Côtes de Genève with a "TAG Heuer — Calibre 5 — Swiss Made" engraving to foretell performance and precision.
The calibre boasts a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations or 4 Hertz per hour. With a power reserve of 38 hours, it can function on energy supply that it has gathered for over two and a half days, when the watch is left unattended. The calibre also enables the rapid date correction feature and effectively drives the timekeeping and date functions of its watches.
Some of the most exclusive and best-in-class watches are powered by this caliber. The caliber has truly allowed innovation in horology by enabling Tag Heuer to come up with many firsts and one-of-a-kinds. Tag Heuer Carrera Mikrotourbillons is the fastest and most precise double tourbillon. The Monaco V4 Titanium is the world’s first watch that functions on belts. The Tag Heuer Carrera Mikrograph 1/100th is the first watch that could measure 1/100th of a second on the central hand. The Tag Heuer Carrera Mikrotimer Flying 1000 was the first mechanical chronograph that could gauge and showcase 1/1000th of a second.
