Raymond Weil’s current CEO is Elie Bernheim, the founder’s grandson. He joined the company in 2006, and took over from his father, Olivier Bernheim. He strives to continue the family legacy of the Raymond’s title. While he maintains the spirit of tradition, he brings a young and modern outlook to the company. The love of music has been quintessential in the development of the company. The company has repeatedly taken interest in several musical events and charities. VH1 Save the music Foundation, and Brit Music Awards 2015, are examples of such charities and events. Several collections, like the Toccata, Tango, Flamenco, Parsifal, and Maestro are based on music, and have musical implications. Some collections may also be dedications to family members, like Noemia, which is the name of his granddaughter.
The Parsifal 9460-SG5-00208 is a splendid rose gold, black and steel time piece for women. The stainless steel case, with rose gold rim has a diameter of 28 mm, and thickness of 5 mm. On it is set a jet black dial, with rose gold Roman numerals marking the hours, except at 3 o’ clock. Minutes are marked by indices on an outer circle.
The classic dial rests on a dual toned bracelet, with deployable double folding double security push system. The dial has a rose gold black domed RW crown. It is an extremely attractive and classy watch.
The Parsifal 9460-SG5-00208 has Swiss quartz movement. It is water resistant up to 50 m. It has a treatment of sapphire crystal on the front and back, making it strong, as well as preventing glare and scratches. It performs the hour, minute, and date function. The date window is at 3 o’ clock, replacing the hour indicator.
Raymond Weil created the Parsifal collection as a tribute to the great opera composer and director, Richard Wagner, in 1991. The challenge embraced by the collection was to adequately depict the struggles and qualities of a man well ahead of his times, and the brand succeeds in doing so owing to its revolutionary technology and masterful aesthetics. With an elegance that is ideal for men and women, this collection pleases the most avid of watch enthusiasts. Although this line was discontinued for a while, it started afresh in 2010 and continues till today.
The artistic appeal of the Parsifal line lies in the subtle interplay of textures attempted by it. The dial appears in shades of white, brown, and black, with subdials of a tone very similar to that of the dial, as opposed to contrasting, as is generally the case. The time intervals are marked with applied Roman numerals fro a stately appeal. The polished stainless steel fixed bezel sits upon a crown case that extends into the straps. The crown itself is topped with a domed gem.
The watches from the Parsifal collection operate on mechanical auto-winding movements for immaculate timekeeping functions, with a power reserve of 42 hours. Subdials on these watches offer small seconds, minutes and hours counters with indicators. The screw down crowns of these watches allow water resistivity of up to 100m. The bezel additionally boasts a tachymeter. Raymond Weil celebrates the Wagner opera fittingly by crafting masterpieces of their own.
