Raymond Weil started his watch company in 1976, putting shape to his passion and love for watches. He infused his love for music into watch making. It was not long before he took over the international market of luxury watches. He believed in reliability and uniqueness. Over the last 35 years, the company has evolved in several aspects. Each collection has its own individuality, and brings a new fervour to the market. Some collections are born out of certain events, while some are dedications to family, genre, style, or artist. The Noemia collection, for instance, is named after his granddaughter, while the Flamenco and Saxo collections, are clear reflections of the man’s involvement with the art of music.

The sub dials performs the 60 seconds, 30 minutes, and 12 hours functions.
In 2007, Raymond Weil launched the magnificent Freelancer collection of watches. The name of the collection is a tribute to the uninhibited spirt of the artist, the maverick and the pioneer who expresses his creativity impassionedly and freely. The Freelancer collection includes watches for men and women and delights them both in equal measures.
The Freelancer Range of watches from Raymond Weil is extremely diverse in terms of the number of styles and designs it offers. These watches come in stainless-steel or titanium cases with mirror finish. Select models offer a gold plating in rose or yellow for a touch of opulence. The strap is made in either immaculately stitched leather or polished stainless steel, some watches featuring a dual combination of steel and gold. The case window is fabricated in sapphire crystal glass which is anti-reflective on both sides and hence offers a clear view of the time, while zealously guarding the case against wear and tear.
The Freelancer Range from Raymond Weil was the first amongst the watches to be brought out by the firm to have a visible balance wheel. A small aperture in the dial allowed the user a view of the moving mechanical part of the watch. It also marked the beginning of a mechanical range of watches for the ladies from this brand. Further enhancing the utility of the watch, the Freelancer series of watches has a luminescent dial, which allows viewing of time even in the dark. The more affluent watches of the Freelancer series come with an automatic chronograph feature that can be employed according to the user’s requirement. These watches are water-resistant up to a depth of 100 meters or 330 feet.
