Raymond Weil, the company, started in 1976, and soon became a leading brand in luxury watches. The founder of the brand, Mr. Weil, has induced his love for music into his craft of watch making. The musically inspired watch maker has always emphasised on reliability and uniqueness. Toccata is one of the latest collections, launched in 2014, which is musically inspired. The collection pays homage to the composer, who, according to Mr. Weil, is the main instrument who sets the tone for any production. The signature of the collection is the rounded sapphire crystal on both sides. It is known for the simplistic designs, which blend in with the modern traits. Raymond Weil was awarded the Industry Award by the State of Geneva, in 2007.
The Toccata 5488-STC-20001 is a black on black piece for men. It has a stainless steel case, with a diameter of 39 mm, and thickness of 7.85 mm. The case rests on genuine calf leather strap, with alligator motif, which has stainless steel traditional buckle clasp.
A black dial is set on the silver case. It has silver indices marking out the hours coupled with silver hands, and minutes are marked on each interval between the hour indicators. This classic piece is rounded up with the signature RW lacquered crown. The watch has classic silver on black setting, adding to the sophistication.
The Toccata 5488-STC-20001 is water resistant up to 50 m. It has sapphire crystal on the front, strengthening the watch, and making it immune to scratches and glare. The Swiss made watch also has Quartz movement, with a calibre of 2.5 mm in height. It performs the date, hour, and minute functions. A date window positioned at 3 o’clock indicates the date.
The Toccata collection by Raymond Weil draws inspiration from the legendary music virtuoso that acts as a channel for the composer’s deft skill. As a brand that is motivated by music by its own confession, Raymond Weil strives to achieve that perfection in composition through this collection. Minimalistic design with a refined elegance is the characteristic of this line, which provides masterpieces for men as well as women. Initially started in 1996, the line was discontinued, till it was re-launched in 2014 to provide the audience with a piece truly worth owning.
The simplistic make of watches from the Toccata collection sets them apart from other contemporary models. With a perfectly round shape, the case is available in 29, 39, and 42mm. It is constructed from stainless steel with yellow gold PVD coating in some models. The dial is available in shades of white, black, and blue. The hands of the watches from this sophisticated range are extremely sleek and streamlined, in a material matching that of the case. All models have minute and hour hands that are perfectly aligned to the time markers, marked by Roman numerals, applied indexes, and in some ladies’ versions, with radiant gems. The crown has corrugated edges for comfortable adjustments. Strap options include stainless steel with double push folding clasps or calf leather motif with the traditional buckle.
All watches from the Toccata collection operate on Swiss made quartz movements for precise timekeeping.
