Raymond Weil started his company in 1976. He was joined by his son in law, Olivier Bernheim in 1982. It was soon after, that the company launched The Amadeus collection dedicated Miloš Forman's famous film of the same name. It was in 1994, that Raymond’s Precision Movements ad campaign started winning several accolades. The Tango collection, launched in 1995, remains the most famous collection so far. In a few years time they also launched they Don Giovanni’s collection, with two time zone watches. In 2001, the company celebrated a quarter of the century of the Othello collection, and unveiled the new designs in the collection. The latest collection, The Toccata, was launched in 2014, the same year in which Elie Bernheim, took over as the CEO of the company. The company has had three CEOs, but has remained within the family.
The Maestro 2837-STC-05659 is a classy time piece for men. It has a stainless steel case, with a diameter of 39.5 mm and thickness of 9.15 mm. It has a silver dial, with black Arabic numbers marking the hours. It has royal blue hands, adding contrast to the dull gray dial.
The magnificent case rests on genuine leather straps, which clasp through traditional stainless steel buckles. It has a skeletal back, revealing the complicated movements inside. It has a lacquered silver RW crown. The time piece is a masterpiece, and is sophisticated in its apperance.
The Maestro 2837-STC-05659 has automatic movement. It is water resistant up to 50 m. It is treated with sapphire crystal, to make it sturdy, and prevent glare and reflection. It performs the hour, minutes, seconds, and date function. The window is located at the 3 o’ clock position.
Upholding its tradition of producing watches that make checking time an experience in and of itself, in 2010, Raymond Weil introduced the Maestro collection of wristwatches. The Maestro series later launched the Maestro Phase de Lune model in 2011, which true to its name allowed the inspection of certain lunar complexities as an added feature. The Maestro 35th anniversary edition was also launched the same year to commemorate 35 years of Raymond Weil’s glorious existence as one of the world’s leading watch manufacturers.
The Maestro collection of watches is designed envisioning the requirements of both men and women, offering a plethora of designs to choose from. The watches come in stainless steel or gold cases with the crown adorned with the Raymond Weil logo. Sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-glare treatment has been used as the glass material. The crown can be used to adjust the hour as well the date functions. The watches intended for the ladies are adorned with decorative elements and diamonds have been used liberally in the more lavish models . The straps are made with pure leather and enhanced with alligator finish or feature stainless steel bracelets.
In addition to the main dial displaying time, there are smaller windows, which display day, date and month as well depending on the watch. The Maestro Phase de Lune also incorporates lunar phase related information. Some of the watches in the Maestro series come with a transparent back cover, which showcases the gear movement, the balance wheel and the oscillating weight within the watch. Select models feature subsidiary dials as chronograph counters. The watches in this series are water-resistant up to a depth of 50 metres. The Maestro series lives up to its name, as it indeed is the master of its class offering a stunning choice to both men and women.
