Raymond Weil was founded in 1976. The brand has had an interesting journey ever since. It was started in a time, when the watch industry was in crisis due to the Quartz movement. While several watch companies ran out of business, Raymond Weil set forth on a successful path. Since childhood, the founder was enamoured by the art of watch making, and finally put his passion to work. The connoisseur centralised his company around music, because music was the centre of the universe for him. His Maestro collection is one of the many, which has musical connotations attached to it. It pays an ode to the creator, and in turn to Raymond Weil himself. The watch maker has continuously emphasised on perfection. He treats each piece as a work of art, where every detail is unconditionally cared for. The brand is currently under Elie Bernheim, Raymond Weil’s grandson.
The Freelancer 5670-ST-05907 is an elegant piece for women. It has a stainless steel case, with a diameter of 28 mm, and thickness of 6 mm. It has a white mother of pearl dial, with silver indices marking the hours, except at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o ‘clock positions where Arabic numbers mark the hours. Minutes are marked on an outer circle.
The case rests on a stainless steel bracelet, which clasps through a double folding double security system. It has a lacquered RW crown on the side of the case.
The Freelancer 5670-ST-05907 has Swiss Quartz movement. It is water resistant to a depth of 100 m. It has sapphire crystal on the front, making it sturdy, and avoiding glare and scratches. It performs the hour, minute, and date functions. The date window is at 4 o’ clock, displaying the previous and following day’s date with utmost precision and clarity.
In 2007, Raymond Weil launched the magnificent Freelancer collection of watches. The name of the collection is a tribute to the uninhibited spirt of the artist, the maverick and the pioneer who expresses his creativity impassionedly and freely. The Freelancer collection includes watches for men and women and delights them both in equal measures.
The Freelancer Range of watches from Raymond Weil is extremely diverse in terms of the number of styles and designs it offers. These watches come in stainless-steel or titanium cases with mirror finish. Select models offer a gold plating in rose or yellow for a touch of opulence. The strap is made in either immaculately stitched leather or polished stainless steel, some watches featuring a dual combination of steel and gold. The case window is fabricated in sapphire crystal glass which is anti-reflective on both sides and hence offers a clear view of the time, while zealously guarding the case against wear and tear.
The Freelancer Range from Raymond Weil was the first amongst the watches to be brought out by the firm to have a visible balance wheel. A small aperture in the dial allowed the user a view of the moving mechanical part of the watch. It also marked the beginning of a mechanical range of watches for the ladies from this brand. Further enhancing the utility of the watch, the Freelancer series of watches has a luminescent dial, which allows viewing of time even in the dark. The more affluent watches of the Freelancer series come with an automatic chronograph feature that can be employed according to the user’s requirement. These watches are water-resistant up to a depth of 100 meters or 330 feet.
