The Maestro collection by Raymond Weil was launched in 2010. Maestro meaning ‘master’ in a particular form of art, is an inspirational collection. Following the name, the pieces in the collection are effortlessly complex. The same way a Maestro makes a complicated piece seem like a walk in the woods, the watches are full of intricacies beneath the smooth mannerism. Raymond is applauded for the statement pieces, which can never go out of style. It is also a subtle dedication to Raymond Weil himself, as the brand believes that there is a bit of a Maestro in the authentic Swiss watch-maker.
The Maestro 2859-STC-00659 is a masterpiece, much like the collection to which it belongs. The piece is a multi-functional, exquisite watch for men. A stainless steel case rests on genuine calf leather, with an alligator motif strap adding to its overall aesthetic appeal. It has a stainless steel traditional clasp, adding to the classic demeanour of the watch. The case has a diameter of 41.5 mm and thickness of 10.35 mm. It has a silver sunray dial with black Roman numerals marking the hours. Royal blue tone hands perform the date, day, month, moon phase, hours, minutes, and seconds functions. This timepiece showcases the months and week function on the outer most circle of the dial, followed by the black numeric indicating the hours.
The Maestro 2859-STC-00659 has a mechanical movement with automatic winding, for precise time reading. It has a 42 hours power reserve. A sapphire crystal provides anti-glare and anti-scratch properties to the watch. It is water resistant up to 50 m. The three sub-dials indicate the day, date, and moon-phase. The watch is a work of art with the most subtle yet comprehensive design.
In 2007, Raymond Weil launched the magnificent Freelancer collection of watches. The name of the collection is a tribute to the uninhibited spirt of the artist, the maverick and the pioneer who expresses his creativity impassionedly and freely. The Freelancer collection includes watches for men and women and delights them both in equal measures.
The Freelancer Range of watches from Raymond Weil is extremely diverse in terms of the number of styles and designs it offers. These watches come in stainless-steel or titanium cases with mirror finish. Select models offer a gold plating in rose or yellow for a touch of opulence. The strap is made in either immaculately stitched leather or polished stainless steel, some watches featuring a dual combination of steel and gold. The case window is fabricated in sapphire crystal glass which is anti-reflective on both sides and hence offers a clear view of the time, while zealously guarding the case against wear and tear.
The Freelancer Range from Raymond Weil was the first amongst the watches to be brought out by the firm to have a visible balance wheel. A small aperture in the dial allowed the user a view of the moving mechanical part of the watch. It also marked the beginning of a mechanical range of watches for the ladies from this brand. Further enhancing the utility of the watch, the Freelancer series of watches has a luminescent dial, which allows viewing of time even in the dark. The more affluent watches of the Freelancer series come with an automatic chronograph feature that can be employed according to the user’s requirement. These watches are water-resistant up to a depth of 100 meters or 330 feet.
