Rado

History
In 1917, a small clockworks factory was established by three brothers at Lengnau, in Switzerland. Soon, the Schlup and Company turned into watch-manufacturers. Their first line of watches was launched under the brand name Rado, in 1957. Henceforth, they were called the Rado Uhren A.G. In 1968, they became a part of ASUAG. A few years later, the SMH group acquired the ASUAG. 1998 forwards, the SMH has been known as the Swatch Group.
Rado’s progress has been conditioned by their faith in the infallibility of technology. They introduced the use of materials like ceramics, hardmetal, lanthanum and sapphire crystal in the watch-making industry. In 1962, they launched the world’s first range of scratch-proof watches, the Rado DiaStar. In 2004, they launched the V10K, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the hardest watch on earth.

Design
A re-visitation of the original Rado Coupole series from 1987, this beautiful unisex watch boasts of a stainless steel bracelet, with distinct rose-gold PVD coated centre links. Rado’s logo, certifying the authenticity of the watch, occurs below the 12 o’ clock position, demarcated with a Roman numeral. The curved scratch resistant sapphire crystal protects the delicate dial, to ensure that the watch retains its perfection for a really long time.
