Not long ago, three brothers with a visionary approach, began a small Swiss clockwork factory in the small town of Lengnau. In 1957, the factory gave way to one of the most renowned watch makers, Rado. The company has come a long way in the last century, producing a myriad of timepieces and collections. A new dimension was added to the company, when they started innovating new technologies, like the use of scratch resistant sapphire crystal, as well as of high tech ceramics. These milestones have shaped Rado, and made it a flagship in the field of watch making.
The HyperChrome R32980102 is a piece that reflects simplicity with class. Designed for men, this masculine piece comprises of a bold rose gold, stainless steel case, which measures 40mm in diameter, and is attached to a two-toned ceramic and steel bracelet.
A fixed rose gold bezel encloses the silver dial. The entire timepiece is constructed in a two toned amalgamation of rose gold and steel. Rose gold index markers pave the way for the bold black hands. A simple yet classy date indicator is positioned at 3 o’ clock. A pull/push crown with an anchor symbol establishes the steadfastness of the piece.
The Automatic movement of the piece is visible as the case back is transparent. The piece is water resistant up to 50 metres, and consists of a scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass cover. A deployment clasp, with a push button, re-iterates the perfection that this timepiece is created with.
The Rado Hyperchrome was designed to appeal to a younger crowd. It was launched in Dubai with much fanfare. The youth icon Hrithik Roshan is associated with this collection, and embodies the true spirit of excellence that Rado incorporates into its timepieces.
In 1917, in Switzerland, three brothers—Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup—opened a clockwork factory called Schlup & Co. From its humble beginnings, it is this same company that we today known as Rado. In 1957, exactly 40 years since its inception, the company changed its name to Rado Uhren AG and presented its first watch collection.
The monobloc case of the ceramic watches in this new Rado family represents a breakthrough in technology as well as a step forward in design. Lightweight, extremely comfortable and eye-catching, the Rado HyperChrome is the ultimate every day all occasion timepiece.
Key milestones in Rado’s impressive history so far include the world’s first scratch resistant watch, pioneering high-tech ceramic in watchmaking, the monobloc injected ceramic case and the introduction of touch technology in a ceramic watch. The brand was also the first to use plasma high-tech ceramic in the world.
