Lengnau, a small Swiss town, was the birth place of Rado. Initially, a watch movements manufacturing factory established by the Schlup brothers Franz, Ernst and Werner, Rado became an enterprise in 1957 when the factory turned out its first batch of watches. Renamed Rado after this batch, it became a part of the ASUAG Group in 1968. Later it was subsumed into the SMH, which has called itself the Swatch Group since 1998.
A firm faith in technology has been the touchstone of Rado’s progress. Materials like lanthanum, ceramic, hardmetal and sapphire crystal were unknown to watch making till Rado introduced their use. In 1962, the Rado DiaStar was launched. As the world’s first range of scratch proof watches, it won immense admiration stretching to the present day. In 2004, the Guinness Book of World Records toasted to Rado’s success by judging the V10k as the hardest watch ever manufactured on earth. Delivering on its promise of excellence, Rado honours its commitment to its customers world over.
A classy member of the Rado D-Star collection for men, the Rado R15513103 watch oozes charm. The strapping polished steel bracelet is silver in colour. Light in weight and comfortable to wear, it becomes a casual style statement. A titanium double folding clasp enabled with a push button secures it on the user’s wrist.
Stainless steel bezel encases the large circular dial, silver in colour. Silver tone watch hands and stick hour indices further enhance the muted elegance by attributing a sunburst effect to the dial. Enclosed within a 38.2mm case, the 12 o’ clock position is demarcated by an Arabic numeral. Scratch proof sapphire crystal prevents the appearance of any lines or mark upon the dial.
Bestowed with features to complement its appearance, this self-winding watch utilizes Swiss mechanical automatic movement to update time and date. The date window occurs at the 3 o’ clock position. It is also water resistant to a depth of 100 meters underwater. High on functionality and appearance, this watch is an ideal accessory for the man of substance.
