Rado, the father of a myriad of watch inventions, stands tall as one of the leading brands in the watch industry. Starting small in 1917, the company grew into an institute, whose success undeniably reached its peak in 1950’s, surpassing all expectations. With leading edge pieces like the DiaStar, created in 1962, and the Integral of 1986, Rado has introduced pieces that have changed the face of watch making all over the world. Rado is the reason why all our watches are scratch resistant and water resistant. Power and precision being the key tenets of the institute, Rado creates pieces that are not engineered, but imagined for success.
The D-Star collection is a direct descendant of the DiaStar, which dates back to 1962. Incorporating the best aspects from the vintage piece, the R15329113 is one that stays true to the initial design, yet speaks in a contemporary voice. The carbon diffused steel case measures 42 mm, and encloses the uniquely designed silver dial. A stainless steel polished and brushed bracelet is attached to the piece.
Enhancing the radiance of the dial, the red gold index markers pave the way for the red gold hands. A bold 12 o’ clock symbol breaks the monotony created by the index markers. An anchor symbol is found amidst the piece, reflecting hope and steadfastness.
The beauty of this piece is more than skin deep. It is powered by a mechanical automatic movement. A scratch resistant sapphire crystal makes this piece a beauty that will last long, and remind the future generations of the simplicity with which Rado created its extraordinary designs. In addition to this, the piece is water resistant up to 100 feet.
Rado D-Star was exhibited in the Amsterdam film museum, on 1st October 2012.
Rado timepieces are not only unique but are a work of art. The history of Rado goes back to 1917 when three brothers in a small Swiss town established a clock work company. It was in 1957 that the brand launched its first collection of watches for men. In 1962 Rado launched the world’s first scratch resistant watch. Today watch lovers throughout the world admire timepieces from this brand for its use of innovative materials and design.
Simplicity reigns with this streamlined, sleek and dynamic collection. The D Star is inspired by sharp looks and are mostly crafted with three breakthrough materials – Ceramos, High-tech ceramic and carbon diffused steel.
Several famous actors, sports person, and stalwarts in different fields have been associated with the brand. Julia Gorges, a German Tennis champion, with a bright future ahead of her, has undoubtedly proved, as Rado ambassador, that dreams can be become reality. Lisa Ray, an international model and actor, is elegant and stylish, befitting the brand. Renata Litvinova, is a Russian actor, director, and screenwriter. Her versatility and creativity put her in sync with the theme of the company. Another personality associated with Rado, is the Indian film-star, Hrithik Roshan. Known for adapting to every role, he is more similar to the watch making label than anyone else. Andy Murray, Agnieszka Radwanska, and Tang Wei are also a few impressing personalities associated with Rado.
